Cicconi, 210 Elmhurst Circle, $290,000. The loss of $27,000 in county funding won't stop the Lighthouse Foundation from doing its community work. THE PLAYERS: The Lighthouse Foundation; churches, foundations and individuals that support it; Butler County Community Action and Development officials. THE PROS: Other donors were not bothered by concerns on cleanliness and the turnover of a case manager's position cited by the county when it pulled its Lighthouse funding, and it has the budget to carry on. THE CONS: $27,000 is still $27,000, and the foundation would like to regain county support.

WHAT'S NEXT: The foundation says it has addressed the items cited by the county, and is hoping for funding next year. donated cars, repairs them and gives them to needy families. Borchert suggested some residents may be confusing visitors' cars parked at the Lighthouse with junked cars. In any case, the foundation received an unusually large number of donations recently, and it's working to move cars off the lot, Borchert said. The foundation is also looking for other places to store the cars, he said.

3) Hlf A- ADVERTISE IN THE BLUE BOOK MISSION FROM PAGE N-4 A prearranged tour last week showed the Lighthouse building to be clean, with new paint on many of the walls. The county also faulted the center for having three case managers in six months. Borchert blamed the turnover on a series of coincidental personal problems afflicting the center's hires. "I can say when I started working here in April, things were running smoothly," said Kathi Elder, who is now the case manager. The loss of funding isn't the only bad news that has come the Lighthouse's way recently.

Ray Seybert was convicted in the spring of statutory sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl he had met at the Lighthouse. Though Seybert was doing work for the organization at its furniture warehouse when he met the girl, he had not been recruited or approved to do the work by the foundation, Borchert said. He just appeared at the warehouse, staffed entirely by volunteers, and started working, he said. "It was pure happenstance," Borchert said. "He was not directed by us." A Lighthouse resident, Brett Dumbaugh, was charged in May with selling heroin.

Borchert said he has no comment until after Dumb-augh's trial, other than to say he believes he's innocent and to note that he was not apprehended in the act of selling heroin. Some who live near the Lightouse have complained about a glut of junked cars on foundation property.
