Movietone has such a setup that local viewers will be seeing actual news-reels of a happening less than a day later. United Press will also furnish WTVP with the latest news via a teletype hookup.

Another teletype machine will bring in messages to the station on what its next news-reel will contain and, if there is not sound track with the news-reel, a script to be read by a local announcer while the newsreel is being shown. Thar is the setup for national news and entertainment. Local news and features naturally will play a predominant role in WTVP programming. Among the local features the station plans are the following: Women's programs, Weather news, Millikin University shows, School programs, in CLAIIK'S NEW "East Room' TV Salon tor telecasting later. Whether a station gets a certain program or not depends almost entirely on the advertiser.

For example, an advertiser would be reluctant to buy time on a Central Illinois station if his product is not known here and he had no desire to expand into this area. Some of the network programs already lined up- for WTVP telecasting include: "Red (CBS) "Burns and Allen" "Life is Worth Living" Bishop Fulton Sheen (DuMont) "Blind Date" (DuMont) Thomas Show" (ABC) System, DuMont, and eventually National Broadcasting Company TV programs will be shown. At the start of WTVP operations, kinescopes of all networks but NBC were on hand at VTVP. Even after a live connection with the networks becomes a fact, some kinescopes will be used because of the multi-network hookup. For instance, if two programs WTVP will show are scheduled nationally at the same time, one of them will come will be available a rew days after actual telecasting by.
