James Rinne To Become Ass't Supt. The Board of Directors of the Emmaus Homes, Inc. met for a full day session at Emmaus, Marthasville last week, for action on various items of business pertaining to both Institutions. Of interest to readers of the Record is an official call extended by the Board of Directors to the Rev. James Rinne of Baltimore, Md.

to become assistant Superintendent of the Emmaus Home here at Marthasville, Mo. Rev. Rinne is at present assistant Pastor at St. Mathews U- nited Church of Christ, Rev. Raymond Frankenfeld, Pastor, of Baltimore, Md.

Rev. and Mrs. Rinne formerly served the United Church of Christ at Augusta, Mo. Mrs. Rinne, nee Huenefeld is a native of Holstein, Mo.

While all plans are not completely formulated, the Rinne family will arrive at their new post sometime next summer. In preparation for the new position of assistant, the office of Supt. Ruhl will be enlarged to approximately double its present size. Work has already been started on this and the construction will 1 be carried on as weather permits. Plans are also being made for.

the erection of a new Superintendent's residence just west of the present stone residence. Work on this will not be started until spring weather is favorable for building operations. Among other items discussed were plans for a possible sion of the Men's Dormitory by expanabout one-third its present capacity. The architectural firm of Manske and Dieckmann has been employed to develop plans for the project. Pink and Bite Shower At Concord Hill Sunday Mrs.

John Ruether of High Hill, Mo. was honored with a Pink and Blue shower Sunday, January 16, at the St. Ignatius School Hall at Concord Hill. Hostesses were: Mrs. Andrew Ruether, Mrs.

Maurice Ruether, Mrs. Alvin Engemann, Mrs. Kenneth Ackmann, Miss Bonnie Hellebusch and Miss Rosie Gildehaus. Refreshments were served and the attendance prize was won by Mrs. Orville Gildehaus.

Those present besides Mrs. John Ruether a and the hostesses were: Meyer Mrs. Ted Meyer Mrs. Ted Elroy Meyer, Mrs. Elmer Hellebusch and Brenda and Miss Patsy Meyer of Concord Hill; Mrs.

Orville Gildehaus, Mrs. Larry Gildehaus and Dina; and Miss Marilyn Bueker of Washington, Mo. Mrs. Fred Gildehaus of Krakow; Mrs. Marvin Sartors, Mrs.

Ralph Stuesse, and Miss Tina Ruether of High Ridge, Mo. Augusta Wayne Fuhr returned home the past week after having completed two years in the service. He spent the last three months in Viet Nam. Welcome home! Royce R. Nadler, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Walter Nadler, left Sunday, January 9 by Greyhound bus to Toledo, Ohio, where he will be trained in the meat cutters business at the National School of Meat Cutters for an eight week course. We wish Royce much success in this field of work, The Bridge Club met at the home of Mrs. Robert Kemner Thursday afternoon. Prizes were won by Mrs.

Arnold Knoernschild and Mrs. Melvin Koetter. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess. The Pinochle Club met at the home of Mrs. Ralph Almeling on Wednesday evening.

First prize was won by Mrs. Edna Siem and second prize was won Mrs. Gottfried Knoernschild: A delicious lunch was served by the hostess. The meeting was opened with the pledge to the President Brewe read a selection from the P.T.A. meditation book entitled "Power to Secretary and treasurer's reports were read and approved. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Schomberg were asked to attend the R.

Ill School board meeting for January in Warrenton. Mr. Hope gave a report on the financial situation of the IM Schools, A card party is being planned for Friday, February After some discussion and a demonstration of the torn condition of the old flag it was decided to get a new flag for the school. Hostess for the February meeting are: Mrs. Clinton Schroer, Mrs.

Carl Ackman, Mrs. Milton Pruessner and Mrs. Delmar Haverkamp. Mr. Miller of the Washington Citizen and the Missourian showed us some very interesting slides of the different lands he has visited.

Refreshments of coffee, Kool-ade and donuts were served. -Pub. Chairman Holstein Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kersten sold their property near the Holstein Mill to Mrs.

Mary Scholz and daughter of Lawrence, who moved last week end. We welcome them to our neighborhood. Miss Emma Hoeft, who was staying with her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hoeft, became very ill Thursday night and was taken by ambulance to St.

Francis hospital. All are hoping her health may soon be restored. Mr. and Mrs. Werner Knapheide had as visitors Saturday afternoon their daughter and husband, Mr.

and Mrs. Richard Renken of St. Louis. Mr. and Mrs.

Herman Ruwe had as afternoon visitors on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vahle daughter, Bonnie of Warrenton, Mr. and Mrs. Werner heide had as Sunday afternoon visitors her brother and wife, Mr.

and Mrs. Eldred Niemeyer of Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schroer received word that his niece, Mrs.

Gerhardt Larson of Lakewood, Florida had passed away on January 8. Mrs. Larson was the former Miss Viola Steffen. Three Amendments Approved In State At the Special Election held January 14, State Amendments 1, 2 and 3 failed to carry in Warren County but were approved in statewide voting. Support your girls and buy several boxes of these delicious cookies from them. This money helps to provide camping, troop programs and special activities for the girls. Support your Girl Scouts and give them an order. Femme Osage The St. Charles Area Churchmen Fellowship meeting was held here at the church Sunday evening, at which time officers were elected. Emmet Backhaus has been appointed the deputy assessor for the Femme Osage township and will be working with us real soon. Mr.

and Mrs. Elmer Nissing and family and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Diederich and sons visited Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Irene Helmich and Herman.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Neider and family spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marquart and family.

Mrs. Dan Thilking visited Monday afternoon with Mrs. Blondia Gosejacob. Mrs. Fred Bade Sr.

spent Sunday evening with Mrs. Dan Thilking, while Mr. Thilking and Mr. Bade attended the Churchmen Fellowship meeting. Mr.

and Mrs. Oscar Schemmer and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Fuerman spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs.

Meeting January 17 The regular meeting of the Community Club was held January 17.

Twenty-one members answered roll call. The Road Committee reported that work. on the road east of town was being considered. E. H.

Koch reported on the meeting of the Missouri Association of Fairs held at Jefferson City, which he and Edw. Fuchs attended last week. After some discussion, a' motion was made and carried that the Concessions Committee report, not later than the April meeting, if concessions can be secured for the Fall Festival in August. The Concessions Committee was given the authority to change the date of the Fall Festival, if necessary, to secure concessions. It was reported that the Bloodmobile would be in Marthasville at the Community Hall on February 14 from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The president read the list of names on various committees which will be published later. No further business, the meeting adjourned. Cake and coffee were served by the County Fair Ass'n Holds Annual Meeting The annual meeting of the Warren County Fair Association was held at the Courthouse in Warrenton Tuesday evening, January 11. Three directors were reelected to the board for a term of three years. They were Melvin Vehle, Lawrence Meine and Wesley Schulze.

Robert Sandoz was elected to fill the unexpired term of Wesley Schwerdt who resigned due to ill health. Other board members are B. G. Wegener, Ray Determan, Harold Sterrett, Julius Schulze and. Hugo Meyer.

The financial' report was given. Highlights of this report was the announcement that final payment had been made on the fairground property with a balance of $1133.97 on hand, January 1, 1966. will be given to the development and improvement of the fairgrounds in 1966. Officers elected at a special board meeting called immediately after the annual meeting were: Melvin Vahle, president: Lawrence Meine, 1st vice president; Wesley Schulze, 2nd vice president, Harold Sterrett, secretary, and B. G.

Wegener, treasurer. Dates for the 1966 County Fair was set for August 4, 5, and 6. Announce Engagement Mrs. James Freese announces the engagement of her daughter, Marcia, to David Coulter, son of Mrs. Alice Coulter of Washington, Mo.

Marcia is the daughter of Mrs. and the late James W. Freese. The bride elect is a graduate of Washington high school in 1964. is now a sophmore at Southeast.

Missouri State College at Cape Girardeau. Mr. Coulter is a graduate of Washington high school in 1963 and in December graduated from Rankin Trade School, He is presently employed at Thiel Tool and Engineering Co. at St. Louis.

Wedding plans are indefinite. supper guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Buddemeyer, Timmy and Tammy. Mr.

and Mrs. Frank' and family had as their guests Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kraft and family and Mr. and Mrs.

Roman Marquart, and family, Friday, Misses Virginia and Susie Backhaus visited with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Theophil Hennecke. Mrs. Vernon Fuerman, Mrs.

Virgil Hennecke, Mrs. Dan Hennecke, Mrs. Arthur Hinnah and Mrs. Oscar Schemmer spent Sunday night with Mrs. Olga Sehrt, while the men attended the Churchmen Fellowship meeting.

27 1966 Wheat And Feed Grain Signup Starts January 31 the Marthasville MFA hall at 7:30 p.m. on the 28th. The new CAP Program will also be explained. For the long term Cropland Adjustment Program, the signup will begin on the same date as authen commodity programs with the deadline to be announced later. We urge all farmers interested be at one of these meetings to get the general view of programs before visiting the office for signup.

The signup for the 1966 programs for wheat and feed grain will start on January 31, 1966. The signup deadline will April 1, 1966. In order for farmers to understand the new provisions of the programs a meeting will be held at the Warren County Court House in Warrenton January 27, 1966 at 7:30 p.m. and another one at Bernheimer Last week on Monday, the 10th, our daughter, Eleanore, Mrs. Elmer Schnarre, of Rural Route, New Florence, submitted Luke's to major surgery in St.

Hospital in St. Louis. Last reports she was doing quite satisfactorily. Martin and I spent most of Wednesday in the city visiting her, having gone down with Elmer. Glad to report at last news we had Mrs. Herb. Brakemeyer also was doing well. She had major surgery on Wednesday, 12th, as a patient in University of Missouri Medical Hospital in Columbia, Mo. I guess I just closed the holidays items too soon, for a good friend, Mrs.

Gilmore Jaeger, sent me these items regarding their Christmas vacation covering these various trips and visits of interest: They visited in Chamois with the Gene Fer-1 gusons, the Edw. Reithemeyers, also Aug. Vahrenberg; in Morrison: to see Mrs. Hannah Schmidt; to Hazelwood to visit with the J. H.

Ellis family; to Ballwin to see the Ben Carlisles and Alvin Hoppes; also in Mt. Sterling, they visited an aunt; over at a cousin, the Oliver Steinbecks. During the remaining: evenings visited in these homes; C. Sutton, Theo. Begemann and F.

Stuermann. In the annual meeting, Henry Bunge Jr. was voted as new board member for St. John's of Pinckney and installed January 2 during church services. In our recent January meeting of St.

John's of Pinckney Ladies Aid when our summaries were read, it was brought out that in the past: 33 years our membership has averaged 21. In these years 18 members had passed on. During those 33 years, a surprisingly large a- mount of money had been used to help keep up the church, for various charities and many other very worthwhile contributions. Just a quiet Master's way of following the command: "Let not your left hand know what your right hand doeth." Matt. 6: 3.

So our ladies have gone on in their charitable way letting their "light shine." Our sympathy is extended to the Fred Hoeft family, as well as other relatives, in the sudden death of a brother, Edw. Hoeft; also we hear his sister, Miss Emma, was conveyed to a hospital in serious condition from several critical ailments. Sunday dinner guests and visiting for all day after church were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kersten in the home of Mr.

and Mrs. Herman Bottermuller. 'This same day, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Landwehr, daughter Carmen Kay of Wentzville spent the afternoon, as did also Harold Landwehr of O'Fallon with Virgil, Helen and Mrs.

COUNTY EXTENSION COUNCIL, ELECTION To Be Held January 22 to 29 At Six Voting Places The annual election to select members to the Warren County University Extension Council will be held January 22 to January 29, according to Melvin Buschschorn, Council chairman. Ballot boxes will be placed in the following locations: District I (Camp Branch Township) and District III (Elkhorn Township), at the Courthouse in Warrenton and MFA Exchange, Truesdale; District IV (Hickory Grove Township) at the Farmers and Merchants Bank and Farmers Elevator, Wright City. District (Charrette Township) at the Bank of and MFA Elevator in Marthasville.

All citizens of voting age are urged to vote for the nominees or nominee on the ballot for the District in which they reside. Term of office will be two years. Nominees are: District Mrs. 0. D.

Burgess and Melvin Vahle (vote for one); District III: Mrs. Kenneth Dickmeyer and Mrs. Noah, Hase; Mrs. Charles Bade and Mrs. Leslie Windmann (vote for two) District IV: Mrs.

Otto Hollenbeck and Mrs. Kent Massey (vote for one); District Mrs. Dennis Backs and Mrs. Charles Roloff (vote for one). The Warren County Extension Council is made up of ten citizens from all areas of the county plus four appointed representatives of the county court, City of Warrenton, and general farm organizations.

They direct the program of the County University Extension Center, which is the county educational arm of the University of Missouri. March Of Dimes Drive Jan. 24 to 28 Mrs. Don- Bailey, local chair. man for the March of Dimes, announces that the local drive will be held.

There was no March of Dimes campaign in Warren County last year 80 everyone: is urged to support the 1966 drive as the need for funds is urgent, Bookmobile Schedule The bookmobile will be at the Marthasville school Tuesday, January 25 from 9:00 to 10:00 a. m. and the Marthasville community from 10:15 to 10:45 on the same date. and Mrs. Walter Kienker of Gerald, visited Thursday with Mrs. F. E. Hoelscher.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Poertner visited Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Meyer at Herman.

Mrs. Olando Meyer spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyer. Mrs.

F. E. Hoelscher accompanied Mrs. Gus Meyer and Mrs. Warner Ahmann of Marthasville Thursday to the Deaconess (hospital to visit F.

E. Hoelscher and they also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Olando Kienker in St, Louis, 584.
