Gov. Anthony then addressed Gov, Allen in the following appropriate and eloquent manner. The House adjourned until 3 Wednesday Afternoon. The House met at 2 o'clock. The two Houses then joined in GRAND COMMITTEL. for tae purpose of procecding in the election ot officers. His Excellency Gov.

Allen in the chair. Th. Gov. stated that the two Houses Lnd joined in Grand Committee for the purpose of proceeding 1 the clection of officers. The tollowing officers were then elected CLenks of Suereme Coun.

Newport Jouslin by a maujority of 2 over William Gilpin, Providence Metealf over Benjamin T. Eames; 53 votes were necessary to a choice. and Mr. Metealt had just that number. The election of Clerks in Washing ton and Bristol Countice was postponed until the next seeson, Kent Weaver over Joseph J.
