Witnesses back Long at hearing i A lawyer and a real estate agent testified yesterday that William Long was at a real estate closing last Friday afternoon when a person identifying himself as Long made threatening telephone calls to a prosecutor.

Uptown lawyer Lawrence Casella and Louis Tassari, a real estate agent, testified on behalf of Long, who is trying to get his bail reinstated. Long, 42, of Penn Hills, is one of four men charged in the Aug. 20 fatal shooting and beating of Jonathan "Boo" Bailey, a semiprofessional football player. Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey A. Manning will rule on the bond issue at 1:30 p.m.

today. Manning revoked Long's $50,000 bond Monday after hearing evidence about threatening telephone calls made to the offices of Deputy District Attorney Robert P. Vincler last Friday. Two secretaries in the district attorney's office and a paralegal at Vincler's private law office reported receiving threatening telephone calls at about 3:45 p.m. from a caller who identified himself as William Long.

Bailey's sister, Beverly Williams, also testified about a threatening call made to her mother's house in Monroeville Sunday night. Long's attorney, Stanton D. Le- venson, brought in four witnesses yesterday to refute the allegations. He argued that Casella and Tassari were "disinterested witnesses who have no reason to lie." Levenson also called Long's wife, Judy, and his daughter, Monica, 18, as alibi witnesses. "This is so stupid that I cannot believe my client would have done it," Levenson said.

Assistant District Attorney Edward A. Tessaro argued that the threats were "strangely consistent" with the brutal stabbing of Bailey in front of about 60 witnesses at the Willie Stargell Field in Homewood. 24-hour report National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Weather Radio broadcasts latest weather information or warnings 24 hours a day on VHF band at 162.55 MHz. By Jan Ackerman Post-Gazette Staff Writer Fingerprints on a water glass and bloodstained garments are the chief pieces of evidence that a prosecutor will use to try to prove that Joseph R. Servich brutally stabbed a May-view psychologist to death in 1987. After three weeks of jury selection, Chief Trial Deputy Robert P. Vincler opened his case yesterday against Servich, 21, formerly of the Strip District. Servich is accused of slaying Albert C.

Falbo 44, of 1200 Dor-mont Ave. on May 16, 1987. Servich and Robert W. Blake, 20, formerly of Pleasant Hills, are accused of meeting Falbo at a Downtown park that 51 49 day and riding with him to his Dormont home to smoke marijuana and drink. Vincler told the jury that while attempting to rob Falbo, Servich stabbed him about 35 times, left his body in the apartment and stole his car, which he and Blake drove to the Carolinas.

Falbo's co-workers found his body May 19 after he had failed to report to work. Vincler said a water glass found beside the body had both Servich's and Falbo's fingerprints on it. He said Blake's brother, Daniel, helped police recover a plastic bag containing Servich's bloodstained clothes from the Allegheny River. Vincler said Daniel Blake will be his key witness and will testify that Servich admitted stabbing Falbo. In April, a jury convicted Blake of second-degree murder.

He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison. Vincler is seeking the death penalty against Servich, who also is charged with robbery, theft, unlawful use of an auto and conspiracy. Jury selection began Sept. 29. Vincler and defense attorney Paul R.

Gettleman individually interviewed more than 125 jurors in order to find the 12 regulars and four alternates who are hearing the case. The trial will resume today before Judge Raymond A. The right hand had been cut between the thumb and the index finger," said James Gregris, chief deputy coroner. The body of a male prostitute was found lying in a puddle of blood yesterday on the sidewalk along East Ohio Street, police said. Police said they believe David C.

Lowry, 28, of 2650 Centre Hill District, had been plying his trade when he was killed. An autopsy revealed that he had been stabbed several times in the stomach and chest, a deputy coroner said. Police have not found the weapon. A person wearing what seemed to be theater makeup was seen near the spot where Lowry's body was found, police said. The makeup appeared to have been applied by a professional and was similar to that used by the Broadway cast of the musical, "Cats," Sgt.
