Master George Winslow, in a brief scene or two, also adds a bright comedy touch. The backgrounds, afloat and ashore, are delightfully easy on the eyes. Mr. Jack Cole's choreography leaves nothing to be desired, and the Technicolor photography gives the entire production a sparkle to match that of the biggest "best friend" a girl can imagine. The Fulton is presenting "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" on its large new screen, and there is no house rule against going to see it twice.

JRiVr, Vaquero By ALBERT W. BLOOM "Ride. Vaquero!" is a movie with an exclamation point all its own it is a SHE who gets slapped! And this is back in the post-Civil War days way down south in Texas where gents were still supposed to be gallant. Some were also bandits. Such a one was Robert Taylor, whose name was simply Rio.

His path chances to cross that of Cordelia Ava Gardner), who packs the romantic power of a loaded six-gun. She's married to King Cameron (Howard Keel), however, a circumstance that led to complications even in those days. Keel brings Ava to the borderlands with dreams of a Alr CHUCK'S COCKTAIL LOUNGE 1301 Federal Street. Northslde CE. 1-9367 Chet.

In history, the cold digger goes fnrpvpr tr. Hawks boldly pours his Lorelei into the latest Schiaparelli creation, buys her a ticket on the He de France, and turns her loose to hunt her diamonds in Technicolor. The result is simply breathtaking.

What Miss Carol HiH fnr the Lorelei of the 20s? on the stage, Miss Monroe does for her up-to-date counterpart on the screen. Not for an instant does she lose sight of her jewel-studed goal. Whether singing, cooing into ear, or taking a turn or two on the dance floor, the never forgets that "Dia-monds Are a Girl's Best Friend." This time the determined young lady's best girl friend and chaperon is Miss Jane Russell. She hasn't learned how to act but she is, of course, a gorgeous brunette and, therefore, quite welcome aboard for those taste may not entirely agree with the movie title. The tvo ladies combine their energies and abilities in perfect harmony.

They do a splendid job with the top flight musical score. Not onlv do they render "Bye, Bye, Baby," "A Little Girl from Little Rock," and "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend," from the original Broadway production, with all the accustomed gusto, but Miss Russell also gives two new Hoagy Carmichael Harold Adamson tunes, "When Love Goes Wrong'' and "Anyone Here Love?" a bright send-off. It is extremely difficult to take ohe's attention away from ATLANTIC CITT. X. J.
