A three-hour conference between company and union officials late yesterday failed to settle the strike of truck drivers and other employes of the Rieck-McJunkin Dairy Company. It was the second fruitless conference held in the company's offices this week in an effort to end the walkout, which began nearly two weeks ago when tHe company refused to sign a union contract which it contended would impose "closed shop" conditions upon all of its nearly 800 employes. Many of the latter are not members of the union, company officials say. Unofficially it was indicated further conferences likely will be held soon.
