EVENING, SEPTEMBER 8, 1M9 THE COSHOCTON, OHIO, TRIBUNE Z.OBGES Carolyn Elaine Miller, Patrick Snedden Wed'Sunday Afternoon Calvary Methodist church was the scene of the wedding of Miss Carolyn Elaine Miller, daughter of Mr. and' Mrs. Arthur Miller, 220 South Fifteenth and B. Patrick Snedden, son of Mrs. Nancy Snedden, 228 South Second which took place Sunday afternoon at 3:30.

The Rev. Robert Forsythe, pastor of the church, officiated before the altar decorated with palms and gladioli combined with two seven- branched candelabrae. Preceding the exchange of vows, Miss June Browning, organist, presented the following selections: "0 Promise Me," "The Sweetest Story Ever Told," "I Love You Truly," "The Lord's Prayer," "I Love Thee," "0 Perfect Love," the bridal chorus and wedding march from Lohengrin. The bride, who was given by marriage by her father, was beautiful in a ballerina-length wedding gown of white lace and tulle over satin. Style details featured a sa- briaa neckline, and short sleeves, with which she wore lace mitts.

Her finger-tip veil of silk illusion was caught by a headband of sequins and rhinestones, and she carried a white Bible topped with white rosebuds. The bride's only jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift of the bridegroom. Miss Norma Pretzeus, maid of honor, wore a powder blue net and tulle over taffeta dress and carried Luncheon Given For Miss Gordon Honoring Miss Beatrice Gordon, whose marriage to Robert Bannon will take place Saturday evening at 7:30 in the Main St Church of Christ, Mrs. Kenneth M. Westfall, 441 st, entertained with a luncheon at the Town and Country Club Wednesday afternoon.

A pink and white color motif was carried out in the attractive appointments. A hostess gift was presented the bride-to-be. Those present were Miss Gordon, the honored guest; Mrs. Raymond Stipes, Mrs. Karl Meek Slaughter Mrs.

Patrick a colonial bouquet of pink and white carnations. Robert Snedden served his brother as best man. Seating the guests were Kenneth Lowery and Asa Schaffer, ushers. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Miller chose a blue silk crepe dress with white accessories and the mother of the bridegroom wore blue faille with navy complements.

Both wore corsages of pink and white carnations. A reception for approximately 75 guests followed the ceremony in the home of the bride's parents. Pink and white flowers and white tapers, with a tiered wedding cake decorated the tea table. Assisting were Mrs. James Stine, Mrs.

Robert Edwards, "Miss Alice McAllister and Miss Joanne Aronhalt When the couple left for a week's wedding trip through the eastern states and Washington, D. bride was wearing a turquoise blue sheath dress with white accessories. The corsage carried for her wedding was pinned at her shoulder. The bride is a graduate of Coshocton high school, class of'1955, and received her training as an X-ray technician at Mount Sinai hospital, Cleveland. She is employed in the office of Dr.

Jones, Zanesville. The bridegroom, a graduate of Coshocton high school, class of 954, is employed at the local Kro- store. The couple will live in their new- purchased trailer at 1602 East Ihestnut st Out-of-town wedding guests were from Cleveland, Akron and Newcomerstown. The Ladies Aid of Emmanuel church met at the par- sh house Tuesday evening with .6 members and one visitor present. Slaughter, North Second st. entertained members of the choir of the Main st. Church of Christ with a party in her home Wednesday evening following choir rehearsal. It was decided to hold social meetings the first Wednesday of each month after rehearsal. Mrs.

Slaughter and Mrs. Marvin Lane were re-elected class president and secretary, respectively. Eric Brown was elected librarian. Refreshments were served to 14 during the social hour. Mr.

and Mrs. William Cox, Arthur av. will be hosts to the October meeting. The Tri Rivers Walking horse club will meet Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs.

Glenn Hamilton, 601 Elm st Mrs. William H. Tumblin led the devotions Tuesday afternoon when the Hospital Auxiliary met at the nurses home. Seventeen members were present including he following new members: Mrs S. Underwood, Mrs.

J. E. Ling Mrs. Dwight Walker, and Mrs Russell Kinner. During the afternoon the women made 30 baby blankets, 20 baby jags and did 14 pieces of mend ing.

The next meeting will be Oct. 2 Mrs. Howard Weiss, Madison is visiting her aunt, Mrs August Vaupel, South Fourth st Mrs. Weiss and her three grand daughter-- have just returned from a trip to Europe. Refreshments were served by tfrs.

Edward Downey and Mrs. Jesse Erman hostesses. The next meeting will be Oct. 2 at the parish house, with Mrs. Tolen Mortine and Mrs.

Virgil Spring hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schmidt and daughter, Peggy, South Fourth st. have returned from a vacation at Lake Leelanau, Mich.

Peggy will spend the week-end in attending a progressive dinner party and on Sept. 23 will enter her sophomore year at the Columbus Art school. Mrs. Emma Coverdale celebra- her 87th birthday with a family dinner at the home of her daugh- Mrs. Dorothy Larr, Adams Mills, Sunday.

Report Read at' YWCAMeeting board of of the YWCA met Tuesday at the YW with 16 present. Mrs. William Neff led the devotions. Mre. John Mitchell, executive secretary, announced that 40 meetings were held at the YW in June with an attendance of 2,604.

Twenty-two meetings were held in uly and August with 567 visitors in July and 733 in August. Mrs. William Miller, Y-Teen secretary, stated that 75th anniversary of the national Y-Teens will be observed this year. Special events are planned to mark the anniversary locally. It was -announced that the recreation room at the YWCA will no longer be open during the noon hour as the school now has adequate facilities for that period of recreation.

Richard MeUett, Community Chest president, announced plans for 1957 and asked the aid the Y-Teens in volunteer work the Community Chest office anc in aiding in the solicitation of Eonds faring the drive this fafl. Mrs. Fred Bonfarager was chosen to represent the board in soliciting YW volunteers for the Community Chest. The youth rooms at the YW wil be open Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7 to Wednesday Thursday and Friday afternoons after school and Saturday after noon. A covered dish dinner was held Sunday at the Franklin grange hall honoring Mrs.

Elizabeth Wil liams, Mrs. Phillip Pederspn and sofa, Randy, James E. Williams Albuquerque, New Mexico, and also honoring John Dobson, Coshocton on his birthday anniversary. The following were present Mr. and Mrs.

Major and Mrs. William E. Melby and children, Mary Frances, Billy and Inez Elizabeth, left Wednesday after spending two days with the former's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley S.

Shaw and family, Cambridge rd. The Melby's have been stationed in Madrid, Spain, for almost three years where Maj5r Melby of the Marine corps, was attached to the embassy. They will make their home in Jacksonville, N. where Major Melby will be stationed at Camp Lejeune. 3. Fourteen members attended a meeting of the Christian Builders' class of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church held at the church Wednesday evening. Rev. Charles Higgms led the devotionals.

A business meeting and refreshments followed. The next meeting will be Oct. 3. Mr. and Mrs.

C. D. Croup and Ned recently returned from Bridgeport, m. where they attended a reunion of employes of the Ohio Oil Gas Co. of the Salem field.

En route they visited Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neyma, Mrs. Pearl Mueller, Roscoe, entertained the IW club Tuesday evening. Mrs.

Lloyd Poland and Mrs. Mueller held high and second high scores. Door prizes were awarded Mrs. Poland and Mrs. Ada Fullerton.
