Cemetery. BLOOMFIELD BUYS SITE FOR PARK- PLAYGROUND. Bloomfleld Town Council last night authorized the purchase of the Heckel property at 524 Bloomfield avenue, near Conger street, to be used for park and playground purposes, at a cost of $4,000. Frederick Heckel, one of the owners, who was present, accepted the offer. There is a small house on the property fronting on Bloomfeld avenue, and this the Heckels will have the use of until May 1 next.

Councilman Walker complained of the scavenger service in the upper part of the town. He declared that cans containing ashes garbage had been left standing in front of some of the houses for days at a time. Councilman Brown said that on all sides he had heard nothing but praise of the work of the present scavenger. He promised to investigate. Councilman Unangst spoke of the dangerous condition of the sidewalk at Ashland and Linden avenues, where woman had fallen and broken one her lege.

Playing rings around the visitors, gaining ground almost at will and forming a defense that was practically impregnable, the Montclair High School football team disposed of the Battin High eleven yesterday afternoon by a score of 19 to 0. The game was played on the grounds of the Montclair A. and was featured by the punting of Lloyd, of the Battin team, and Butler, of Montclair.

The latter player, also made two touchdowns, beside kicking a goal from the field. The only other touchdown was made by Left Halfback Whiting, of Montclair. O'Connor, of Kearny, accidentally turned on the gas early yesterday morning instead of the electric light in her room and was found overcome by the fumes. Dr. Eugene H. Goldberg, of Kearny, after working five hours succeeded in restoring the woman to consciousness. WOMAN DIES REFUSING AID.
