Past Matrons Are Honored At Luncheor (Special to Herald) BAN BENITO. Oct. 33. of the Ban Benito Past Matrons clu of the Order of the Eastern Sts 1 who reside in Brownsville were host this past week when they en tertained the members residing i Benito. Those comprising th hostess group were Mesdames Arthu Oooisby, George Walker.

Madg Cherry and Herbert L. Thomas. The affair was held in the dintn room of the First Methodist churcl Plaoecards were replicas of th gavel, a most necessary part oi matron's equipment. Walke is a native of Ontario. She present ed the honor guest with a beautifu floral muff fashioned of orchil bachelor buttons. Following the res ponse from Mrs. McFadden a sonj was dedicated to her. During the dinner hour Mias Btellf Dtckason of the Brownsville chapter gave two clever readings.

Sunday, October 27 at Graham. Mr. Rankin is well known in San Benito and in the Valley where he: made his home for several years.

The party will be given in; the palish house and tables of auction and contract will be provided. New York, 1 I Valley Rally 1 Held Lately In Rio Hondo (Special to The Herald) RIO HONDO, Oct 23. The Valley-wide rally of Home Economics clubs was held here Saturday at the high school auditorium with; the Rio Hondo Home Economics club as hostess. Miss Elizabeth Bingham called! the meeting to order and Miss Grace Wolf, home economics instructor welcomed the guests. A business session was held during which an election was held with Miss Doris Schribers being selected president- Miss Bernetoa Me padden, lormer president, has moved away from the Valley. Reports were given by the president of each Valley club present for the occasion.

Following the business session a special stunt was staged by each group. A luncheon was served at the noon hour on tables arranged in the Home Economics department. A swim at the Y. W. C.

A. camp rounded out the activities. Dates for the two most outstanding events of the club year were set I by the North 8hore Demonstration club at a recent meeting Annual Guest Day was set for November 7 at the Y. W. C.

A. camp when members will entertain with a tea and program. The Santa Rosa and i Cleo club will be especially Invited guests for the affair. The second announcement was the date of Achievement Day i which has been set for November 21, at the home of Mrs. William Magee.
