Kimberly Clark is building a $150 million tissue mill that is located on 340 acres along Yale Avenue between 131st and 141st streets The 500000 square foot plant should be finished in April 1190 State arm is building a regional headquarters at 51st Street and 129th East Avenue Its 260000 square foot building will be operational by late July It is a $40 million project One of the largest plant sales occurred in November Norman Asbjornson formed Aaon Inc purchased the air conditioning division of the John Zink Co and then found a facility for it He bought a 141000 square foot plant at 2425 Yukon Ave for $750000 Asbjornson said he plans to spend a similar amount on renovating the facility The executive purchased the plant from Anderson Industries It has been empty for the last four years Riverside Industries pre viously manufactured electrical power transmission line poles there Mike Coulter of Coulter Associates Realtors was the selling agent Aaon operates two production lines at the Zink facility at 4401 Peoria Ave Renovation work at the new plant should be finished within a month Aviation Continued from Workers also completed a $14 million terminal expansion project and moved stud horse McDonnell Douglas Tulsa had good news for the city during the year when it announced it will use the Tulsa facility for final assem bly of the US Navy A 12 attack jet The announcement will mean about 1000 new jobs to the Tulsa area McDonnell Douglas is build ing the stealth technology air craft in conjunction with General Dynamics who plans to move staff to Tulsa from its ort Worth Texas plant The A 12s will be replacing about 400 Navy A 6 tactical at tack jets Another Tulsa aviation leader Rockwell International delivered its 100th and final Bl bomber to the US Air orce in 1988 Tulsa facility still makes replacement parts for the bomber fleet and is heavily in volved in contract work for a huge backorder of Boeing com mercial jets Rockwell also started its 31 advanced
