Mr. Flinn of Alleghany moved to amend the rules to make mandatory a recapitulation of the vote as cast before the result Is announced. The amendment carried, and the convention adjourned. The outlook for a long deadlock on the senatorship is more promising than at any time since the. right began.

Attorney General Efkln says that he does not expect any conclusion for several days, but intimates that the end may come at any time. Leach's Opinion. Frank Willing Leach, who is regarded as one of the most clear headed of the Quay calculators, gives it as his opinion that the fight will go on for COAL! On Saturday charcoal was lined on the inside and on Monday 8'iortly before noon Rodenhoffer taking with him a lighted candle entered through a small man-hole at the bottom of the hogshead for the purpose of removing the accumulation of foreign substance. Nothing more was seen of him until sometime between 12 and 1 o'clock, when the vault door was noticed open and the dim light of the candle discerned on the interior of the large barrel-like receptacle.

All this was unusual considering that it was the noon hour and an investigation was made, with the result that young Rodenhoffer was found lying on the inside utterly unconscious, overcome by the deadly gas. Fortunately in the position he occupied his head lay near the man-hole, so that he received sufficient air from outside to prolong life. He was quickly dragged through the small manhole and carried out into the open air. Although there was still action at the heart he showed no signs of reviving. A messenger was dispatched for physicians and in a short time Drs.

Kimerer and Curry appeared upon the scene. Nothing but the skill and experience of the doctors and their timely arrival could have saved the man. As it was they had a hard task of it, but at the expiration of nearly an hour they succeeded in restoring him to full consciousness, lie was placed on a cot and taken to the home of his father, George Rodenhoffer, Bloom street, where at last accounts he was doing quite well. fn irrS many people who received presents from my store, and they are well satisfied because they know that Jewelry Bought of me Is Sellable and Up-to-Sate. The game of basket ball played in the Armory Monday night between the team of this city anil the Bloomsburg State Normal School brought the victory around to Danville again. It was an old fashioned game in which our boys were on their mettle from start to finish.

The Normal is a team with a reputation second to but few teams. They threw the first goal last night and pitchel in to the game with a spirit and vim, which showed tbpt they meant to keep ahead if possible. Danville was right on their heels, however, anil they were not able to score a point that was not immediately offset by a goal from the home team. Thus the game showed up as the closest and most hotly contested in this city. At the end of the first half the score was 5 to 4 in favor of Danville.

It was undoubtedly owing to the fine team woik that the victory last night was won. The day a lady remarked what line Tea at such low pi ices. This week Package Coffee 10 cts. Cal'a. Hams 00 cts.

During the second half Sechler was obliged to retire, owing to a slight injury.

Both Sechler and Seidel atdefense won admiration by their cunning tactics, which effectually prevented their big antagonist from scoring, although in stature, he was a giant compared to either of them.
