It got me think- ing about what random life hacks I might have come up with. I do have a few that are somewhat use- ful, but I realized that a whole group of my micro-behaviors are based around inserting small joys into my day. going to share those here, in hopes that a few might bring you joy, as well. Farm life is hard on vehicles, and in running around from home to the farm to my day job, things in my vehicle tend to pile up. So, about four times a year, at the change of the seasons, I pay the $36 at the local car wash to get my car washed and cleaned inside and out.

ANSWER An East Earl, Pennsylvania, reader won- dered if someone could pro- vide the correct recipe to soak pine cones so they are color- ful when burned in a camp fire. Thanks to Wilma Champ of Hegins, Pennsylvania, who had sent in her campfire pine- cone instructions previously, as follows. Camp re Pine Cones In a plastic bucket, mix: 1 gallon hot water 1 teaspoon dish detergent 1 pound of ONE of the following: Epsom salts or rock salt or baking soda or boric acid (Note: Only 1 pound of one of these ingredients should be used.) Directions: Add pine cones to the mixture and weigh pine cones down to keep them sub- merged.

Soak for 24 hours. Remove pine cones and place on newspaper to dry. Dry thor- oughly. Add pine cones to campfire when it has burned down to almost embers. ANSWER A Pennsyl- vania reader was looking for seedlings or plants for goji berry and sea berry but been able to locate them.
