All Nevada livestockmen, whether members of the Farm Bureau or not, have been invited to the gathering, and prospects are that stock growers. from every county in the state will be present. One of the chief objects of the gathering will be adoption of recom- setting forth the attitude of Nevada stockmen on many of the questions that have come up in application of the Taylor act in this state. These recommendations, Ogilvie reported, will be presented to F.

R. Carpenter, director of grazing for the Department of Interior. This will be done at a meeting January 24 Carpenter has called in Reno to elect a committee to aid the department in setting up its distriets: in: this state. at Practically certain of adoption, ist 18 believed, is the proposal that local: government be maintained as far. as possible in administering Nevada's grazing districts.

Among functions of the committee to be elected at the meeting called by Carpenter are to assist in makLing boundry Tines for grazing distriets, and to aid in drawing lines TAX REDUCTION IS STATE ISSUE RENO- Reduction of governmental expenses of the state may be a paramount issue before the 1935 session of it was indicated today by a United Press poll to exclude lands which because of their character or isolation should be left out of grazing districts. The livestock department's meeting will be a regular part of the annual. Nevada Farm Bureau convention. Ely Record, of legislators. Overwhelming sentiment in favor of elimination of much axtravaganec in operation of the state as possible was heard from those legislators participating in the poll.

Along the same lines, most of the legislators favored limitation of the 1935 session to 30 days instead of the usual 60 days. Reduction of governmental expense was favored in order that no new taxes, such as sales, income or Inheritance levies, would be necessary to raise additional income for the state.
