Jean was most anxious to meet, for And like all good fairy tales, the story- of Betty Jean McCord in STARDUST RE VU With Rosalind Russell And Cary Grant By Harold W. But that day has GWTvV. it adds, and then concludes: "So once upon a time Whereupon Columbia and Mr nowara naws, a director any studio would be glad to call its own, get down to the business of telling their fairy tale, which is no fairy among movie lands stars, a star herself, was as happy as any fairy book heroine when tonight she boarded the train for Pittsburgh. After all her good fairy had made her dreams come true. Her diary, carefully kept each day, is crammed with the names of Hollywood's famous. Her suitcase is filled with gifts.

"But best of all, I think have been the new things I've learned about people, about new places," Betty Jean said as she looked from the window of the train. She wasn't wistful or regretful that it was all over. She was looking forward to getting home and telling "mother and daddy" all about "everything." Her last day was as exciting as any. This morning she attended a tale at all but a bang-up, sock-it-to-'em re-write of "The Front Page" by Ben Hecht and Charlie Mac-Arthur. Only this time, Hildy John son, that demon reporter, has turned il into Hildegarde Johnson, that de tures, talked with her about their friends back home.

"He's swell just swell," Betty Jean when she finally hur ried away to the NBC studios for another nation-wide broadcast. "I don't get frightened or nervous now on the broadcasts," she said. "That's another thing I've learned just to be natural." Many people have commented on Betty Jean's poise. Among them were Edward Arnold, the movie star, and his wife, who last night attended the party in the Cocoanut Grove that followed the premiere of Paramount's "Seventeen." The Arnold's son, a student at the University of Southern California, was Betty Jean's escort, and his parents came to the party, too. "And that's quite remarkable," laughed Mrs.

Arnold. "I can seldom persuade him to dance." Betty Jean was just as excited though, when Chuck Vogeley, a University of Southern California student, whose home used to be in Aspinwall, appeared at the party. He was a friend of her family and the two had a fine time chatting about Aspinwall High. And now it's over. Betty Jean will arrive home Sunday night.
