Four Boothbay Superintendent Refuses To Ban Bible Reading In School Boothbay Harbor, May 2. (AP) School Superintendent Harold Clifford said today he intends to take no action on a formal request that he halt reading of the Bible and recitation of the Lord's Prayer In the town schools. The request, preparatory to pos- court action seeking a writ oj mandamus, was served on Clifford and school board members. It was signed by Prank Hughes of Southport Probate Judge John BrackeH and several others Sen ice was through the sheriff's office. To accede to the request.

Three New Selectmen Elected At Waldoboro (Speclml Dlnateh) Waldoboro, May of this town today, at a special town meeting, elected three selectmen to replace a board that resigned in April over a salary dispute. Elected were Chester Light, John Foster and Herbert L. Siahl, all Republican nominees Democratic candidates defeated were LaForest L. Mank, Albert G. Benner and Josiah Jameson.
