Donald Kleine said Monday that no charges will be filed in connection with the shooting death Sunday night Jerry Jaramillo 37 of 1705 Castelar St Police had booked Edward Shreffler 43 on suspicion of Joseph Hospital after a long illness Mrs Cassem was active for many years in Catholic volunteer efforts In 1958 Pope John XXIII awarded her the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal in re cognition of her church service She received the Virginia Merrick Award the Christ Child high est honor for her years of service to the organization including one year as president She was a former president of the St Joseph Hospital Service Board League the Omaha Deanery Council of Catholic Women and the Omaha Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women She also helped organize the College of St Mary Council Mrs Cassem was a longtime booster of Creighton Prep served as president of its Club and was the first recipient of the Ancilla Domini Award The library at the school was re named the Cassem Memorial Library
