Final Rites For Victims Of lOash Are Held Funeral services were held day for the four Frederick youths, victims of a tragic motor accident on Route 40 near Funkstown early" Sunday morning. The combined, attendance excelled any obsequies held for private individuals in this city for many years. The four youths. Raymond George Brown, 24; William Ches! ter Kennedy, 21; Archie Dimmick I Whisner 22, and Charles Eli mer Linton, 22, were killed when the automobile in which they were i riding crashed into a highway rol- 1 ler. Services for the two former were held Tuesday morning, followed by afternoon services for the other two victims.

Funeral services for young Whisner, were held from the funeral home, 8 East Patrick street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Fr. Herbert R. Jordan, assistant pastor of St.

John's Catholic Church, officiated. There was an unusual number of floral offerings arid the services were largely attended. Casket bearers were Marvin 1 Kennedy, Joseph Kennedy, Horace Brown, Meredith Keefer, John Fox and Roy Kinsey. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery. C.

Myers officiated. The services were largely attended and there was a profusion of floral emblems. Military honors were given by Maryland National Guard Co. A 115th Infantry under the command of Lt. Willard Horine and bugler Alonzo Fox.

Pallbearers were: Charles Crum, John Spahr, Robert Troupe, Roy Romsburg, James Marks, and Harry Rowe. Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. M. R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.

Deaths W. Brewer Joyce The death of W. Brewer Joyce, of 307 Wendover road, Baltimore, which occurred there on Tuesday, learned by relatives and friends here this morning. He was the husband of Mrs. Helen Best Joyce, who is formerly of Frederick, and the daughter of George Z.

Best, Francis Scott Key Hotel. Services are to take place at the Second Presbyterian church in Baltimore Thursday afternoon at three o'clock. Interment will be in Loudoun Park cemetery. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Mrs.

Edward H. Miller Mrs. CHda V. Miller, wife of Edward H. Miller, died at 12:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at her home near Taneytown, aged 70 years.

She had been in declining health for three years. A daughter of the late John and Alice Valen- tine, she is survived by her husband: two sisters, Mrs. Lee Valentine and Mrs. Newton Harner, and a brother, Frank Valentine, all of Hanover, Pa. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, Taneytown.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening at the funeral horns in Taneytown. Funeral services will be held there Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with her pastor, Rev. Glenn L. Stahl, officiating. Interment will be in Taneytown Lutheran cemetery.

Murray E. Valentine, Rocky Ridge, at the Annie M. Warner Hospital, Gettysburg, Pa. Miss Rachel Garner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

John Garner, riear Taneytown, returned to her home Tuesday after spending the past three months studying in Europe. Miss Garner had been awarded the Cooperative Handicraft Scholarship and spent time in England. Denmark, Norway and Sweden. At the close of the study tour she spent some time in Germany visiting centers operated. by the Brethren Service Commission.

She also attended the first annual conference of the Church of the Brethren in Europe, at Germany. The annual conference group visited Schwartznan where the Church of the Brethren was founded. Miss Garner's trip to Europe was made via Youth Argasy plane to London, and she returned on the S. S. Samaria to Quebec, Canada.

The Samaria carried some 1.600 passengers of which three fourths were students. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lorenz, near Frederick, have returned from a two weeks' motor trip to Florida. They visited relatives and friends on the State's east and west coasts.

Wm. Sweeney and son Stanley, of Catoctin Furnace, have returned home from a week's visit with Mr. Sweeney's son, William, who is stationed at Scott Air Force Base, Bellville, 111. Young Sweeney, who enlisted for three years, is studying gadio and is honor student of his' class. Stanley Sweeney who Is a junior at Washington College.

Chestertown, has returned. Stanley, who has been on the Dean's list since entering college has also been awarded the Washington College alumni's medal for highest average of the sophomore class. Mrs. Minnie E. Schmidt.

To Hold Old Clothes Dance Complete arrangements an old clothes dance on November 9, from 9 until 12 o'clock, were announced today following a meeting of the officers and directors of the Frederick High School Alumni Association at the Y. M. C. A. Tuesday night.

The dance is the customary event given in recent years during the fall season. Admissjon will be by presentation of the 1949 dues card with ho additional charge. Former members of the association will be able to pay dues for the present year and then will be admitted, it was explained. During the evening, prizes will also be awarded at the dance which is being planned to take place at the Frederick' High school auditorium. These will be awarded following spot dances.

The association has engaged Clark Sheefen- helm's orchestra to play. Plans for a Frederick Higii School homecoming fpoj-ball game on November 11 were also announced today. An effort will be made by the officers and directors to have as many alumni members as possible attend the F. H. S.
