That makes it rather easy for scouts to come here for a Friday night game at tate College, then catch Penn State the following afternoon. Sometimes, it's hard to differentiate between teams, especially when State College's Matt Suhey is running with the football.

Last year as a sophomore, Suhey looked like a miniature John Cappelletti. Twendy pounds heavier and three inches taller at 6-0, 190, Suhey is no longer a miniaturea ny-thing. "He's even quicker this year," says State College coach Jim Williams. "Matt runs with a lot of power and he can make you miss him, too." State College has won 32 straight games dating back to 1970 and was the No. 1 high school team in the state last year.

The Little Lions are 2-0 this season, squeaking past Du- lenge to ur kids to play a team like North. We seem to get up a little more for Western Pennsylvania teams." State College, however, has more than just a pair of Suheys. Wide receiver Gary Ellis, a 4.6 sprinter, caught 13 touchdowns passes last year and Tim Gambocurta was bolstering the defense from his linebacker position. "Make a mistake and State kills you," Hughes said. "And they have so-o-o-o much talent." According to Hughes, North Catholic a a very sound football team before injuries wiped out five starters, including the tailback and fullback.

North's Trojans have relied on the running of Dan Todo-rowski (three TDs) and the passing of quarterback Don Graham in victories over West Mifflin North and McKeesport. "It won't be our season if we beat State," Hughes said. "We still have a lot of other games including n-tral." But North doesn't want to become No. 33. Bois, 35-33, and squashing Lock Haven, 40-6.

"We really don't know how good we are," Williams says. "We'll find out on Friday." That's when State College hosts North Catholic (2-0). "Suhey what more can you say about him?" wondered North Catholic coach Ron Hughes. "He's got great balance, good power and is instinctively a great runner." Suhey carries the ball about 30 times a game, usually following i older brother, Paul, a 6-2, 208-pound fullback. "They double-team you right there," Hughes said, "Key on (Matt) Suhey and State fakes it to him and comes out with a pass." Hughes is familiar with State College and Suhey as the Little Lions beat North, 14-6, last year.

"I don't think State hits any harder than teams around here," Hughes said. "We're going up there for North not for Western Pennsylvania. We'll try to knock the jocks right off them." Williams is prepared for the invasion. "It's a real chal real estate should not be odiudiiaiea and decreed valid and Indoleaslble as against all mortgages, arouna rents. rights, title, Interest In or claims analnst the aforesaid real estate; and to further show cause why the sa'e of the sold real estate should not be made free and clear of all the atoresaid claims whatslever.

25 By BOB WHITLEY Post-Gozette Sports writer IBRANTFORD, Ont. When he became the Penguins' top selection in the 1973 amateur draft, center Pierre Larouche was hard pressed to find the prospect of a professional hockey career in Pittsburgh very comforting. 'Canadiens," Larouche said upon arriving at the Pens' training camp this week. "I always want to play for Canadiens." Not exactly the childhood dream of every 12-year-old on skates in the Canadian province of Quebec, the Penguins will do nonetheless. Larouche, who won't be 19 until November, is "determined to make Pittsburgh his home.

Yom the first day of camp Larouche quickly demonstrated himself a talent to be reckoned with, popping three goals in the Pen-gulps' first full scrimmage. 1 go to Pittsburgh," Larouche said. "I come to play in the National Hockey League. I not come to play in Hershey." jThat confidence is almost shared by his teammates and coaches. Penguin right wing Jean Pronovost, who played with Larouche in a non-contact league near Montreal this summer, concedes the youngest player on the sqeiad might have a shot at sticking with the club.

"There isn't much doubt Pierre has the ability," Pronovost said. "It's only a matter of physical maturity. He will face bigger, stronger men in the National Hockey League. Mentally and emotionally, he1 can do it." There are those who would have Larouche center a line with Vic Hadfield, 33, on the left and Rick Kehoe, 23, on the right. Larouche moves the puck well, handles his stick deftly and apparently has a fine scoring touch himself, having scored 97 goals for the junior hockey Sorel Black Hawks last year, a statistic that remains impressive despite the competition.

"I don't care if it was junior hockey," Pens coach Marc Boileau said. "Anyone scores 97 goals must have something." Something, he has. Larouche handles himself on the ice as if it's a matter of fact that he should be so good. His brash style left teammates gaping in Tuesday's workout when Larouche faked out veteran defenseman Dave Burrows, slipping the puck between Burrow's legs, sidestepping a body check, and skatingc lear for an uncontested shot on goal. Later in the day, Larouche found himself paired with Hadfield in the Penguins' press day golf tournament.

A wager was promptly arranged, not a very prudent move by La-rouch. Hadfield, during the off season, is a teaching professional at his own golf club. Trailing by one with three holes to play, Hadfield bore down on the youngster, sank a birdie putt on the 16th and prepared for the kill. Unfazed, Larouche birdied the fnial two holies and returned to the clubhouse with the money. "I will settle for 20 goals, 50 points this year," he says.

He means in Pittsburgh, in the National Hockey League. Don't bet against it. tomorrow at 7:30 p. m. in the Pittsburgh Press Building.
