That's because the nationally famous Indianapolis Clowns will be making their next appearance at the local ball park. The.Funmakers are coming to town to engage the Frederick Hustlers in an exhibition game under the lights, scheduled to start at 8.30 p. m.

The Clowns easily captured first- half championship honors in the Eastern division of the Negro American League this season, and have their sights leveled on taking the second half as well. Defensively and offensively, the Funmakers have the best ball club in their long history and record of achievements. The ability of the Clowns to provide top entertainment, as well as big time baseball performances, has made the aggregation one 1 of the great sports attractions of the last half century. Fans all over the nation enjoy immensely the capers of the dynamic diamond showmen, headed by the inimitable King Tut and the lovable diminutive Spec Behop. assisted by Peanuts Davis.

But when the team is in action, the fans stare in amazement, hardly realizing that the club is at one moment the zaniest imaginable, and in the next, virtually a major league ball playing unit. Among the stars to be seen with the Clowns are outfielder Granville Gladstone, who is setting the league pace for three-base hits, and versatile Henry "Speed" Merchant, who is showing the way in stolen bases with over 35 to his credit to date. Then there is Archie Ware, the best and cleverest first baseman in the business; Ray Neil, Sherwood Brewer. Verdes Drake, all batting over .300, and one of the best pitching staffs in the Negro American League circuit.
