Market Homecoming Celebration Held Oct. 12 The traditional coronation of the Homecoming Queen was on the afternoon of October 12, 194S. The queen's Betty Ann Benson, Carolyn Sue Sutton, Betty Whitlow, Sallie Jo Chesshir, Melba Jo Kimberly, Maxine Bowden, Peggy Penle- cosl, and Sue by Bonnie Sisson, queen, proceeded clown the aisles to the royal Ihione on the stage as High School Honor Roll Students Twenty students of Hope Junior and Senior High School were on the honor roll for the first nine weeks of school: 7lh Caroline Hawthorne. 81'h Claudette McConnell, Norma Mae Morrison, Marcoll Smith, Milvin Thrash. There were twenty-five floats, consisting of jeeps, cars, trucks, wagons, hacks, and tractors. The first float was the queen's float, followed by others representing the home rooms and various organizations uf Hope High School.

The judges stationed at the corners of 2nd and Main to decide the winners were: Roy Anderson, Jim Enibree, and Mrs. Ralph Routon. They selected the following: First prize of seven dollars and fifty cents to the 4-11 club, second of five dollars to Mrs. Dean's room, third to Hope Hi-LighU stall'. Prix.es of a dollar each were given to Mrs.

Auckland's and Mrs. Henderson's home rooms and the Scouts. All of the floats were examples of the careful planning and hard but enjoyable work it took to make the parade success. 6 Hot Springs Is Site of FHA Club Meeting The local chapter of The Future HomemaKers of America attended district meetings in. Arkadelphia on October 20, February i), and at T.akesidc, Hot Springs, on April 6, At the Deg.niuiig of the fall meeting the girls were welcomed to Henderson State Teacher's College by Dr.

McBrien, president of the college.
