Huge Capital Expenditures The term "Pittsburgh's largest corporation, as made here, recognizes that the United States Steel Corporation has assets of about $500 million more than Gulf's $4.5 billion, but the headquarters of the No. 1 steel company are considered to be in New York. Symphony Has Crisis HOUSTON, April 28 (AP) Cancellation of the Houston Symphony Orchestra's 1964-65 season was indicated today as the symphony society and a musicians' committee deadlocked over a wage contract.

A statement last night after an "emergency" meeting of the society's executive committee said: The Houston Symphony Society is confronted by a sadindeed a tragic- day when at the summit of its 50 years of great achievement it faces cessation of its activities because of demands of its musicians which, although understandable, are impossible of I satisfaction." The society is seeking to raise $350,000 to balance its 1964-65 budget of $800,000. The musicians made known their demands on the symphony management April 16. Pitt Gets Grant To Aid Teachers Bureau April 28- The University of Pittsburgh has received $34,800 from the U.S. Office of Education, to launch training of teachers for handicapped students, Rep. William S.

Moorhead is informed. Training will be given for teachers for blind, deaf, mentally retarded, mentally disturbed, or crippled children. The award is made from a fund created by a new law which set up a 10-year program of such teacher training, with $621 million.
