He was J. R. V. Johnson, a former filling station operator who lived at a Paris hotel. He is survived by his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. J. V. Johnson, of Starke, Fla. Two men riding in Johnson's car suffered slight injuries.

They are David Carnahan and William Hann both 25 and both of Paris. Police reported that Johnson died of a broken neck and a fractured skull after his car and another driven by Charles Farnham, 30, of Paris, collided. Farnham escaped with bruises. CLINTON'S EX-SANTA, JOHN M. SNYDER, DIES Clinton, Jan.

2 (Staff) John M. Snyder, who for several years played the role of community Santa Claus here, died at 4:35 p.m. today in John Warner Hospital. He was 71 and had had a long illness. Mr.

Snyder was a retired Illinois Power Co. employe, having worked in the utility's gas plant here. He leaves his wife, Helen; four sons, Floyd, Decatur; Dean, Streator; John, Peoria, and Robert, Clinton; five daughters, Mrs. Flossie Price and Mrs. Minnie Hartwig, Decatur; Mrs.
