Thcdrive will be held the last two weeks in January. Tom Conn, Lovington, is chairman of the Moultrie County Chapter of the Polio Foundation; L. G.

Beebe of Lovington is chairman of the fund drive, G. C. Miller of Sullivan is treasurer, and Mrs. Vic Dwerlkotte of Sullivan is secretary of the drive. The first donation to the fund was $25 given by the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 68.

Lodges Attend Ceremonies In St. Louis Approximately 33 members ol Lodges 439 and 542, Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks, will attend installation ceremonies tomorrow in St. Louis. Ceremonies start at 7:30 p. m.

in the Jefferson Hotel. A dance has been scheduled for the clerks until 1 a. m. The local contingent will go to St. Louis on Wabash Train 1 1 in a special car.

The car will be coupled to the'midnight train from St. Louis for the return trip, according to D. E. Cook, president of Lodge 439. George M.

Harrison, grand president of the clerks, will be main speaker at the meeting and will install the new officers. WABASH WORKER, RETIRES TODAY Walter Baney, 75, of 4110 E. Hickory retires today after 31 vears service with the Wabash Railroad. A gift of luggage and a box of cigars were presented to Baney this noon, according to Clifford Hall, chairman of the eroup that contributed toward the gift. Baney retired as a store helper and worked 'the entire 31 years with the Wabash in the same department. After his retirement, Baney is planning to live with his son in Astoria and his daughter, who lives in Indiana.

EX-MILLIKIN ACADEMY STUDENT DIES AT 67 Dr. Corwin S. Maves, 67, state medical director of Selective Service during World War II, died Wednesday in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. lie was a former student of the Millikin Academv, coming here from an Uliopolis High School and attending the Decatur school from 1903 until 1909.
