Levenson died Wednesday (Jan. 1) in Los Angeles, where he resided. He had operated food stores in Wilkinsburg, Homewood and on the Northside. He served in World War I as a private Company 167th Infantry, 42nd (Rainbow) Division in France. He won the Distinguished Service Cross, pinned on him by Gen.

John J. Pershing, the Purple Heart and the Croix de Guerre. He earned the Distinguished Service Cross by exposing himself to enemy fire while wiping out two German machine gun nests and saving his company from heavy casualties in action near Chateau Thierry. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Bess) Silverblatt Levenson; a son, Marshall; a sister, Mrs. Irwin Haber of McKeesport; and three brothers, Hymie, of Pittsburgh, and Harry and Rubin, both of Philadelphia.

Washington truck driver was arrested yesterday and charged with the death of a 72-year-old hit-andrun accident last Dec. 21. Gerald A. Leagle, 37, of 474 Norton will be turned over to the coroner's jury on charges of negligent homicide and hit and run. The victim, Patrick Palmer, of 22 was struck down about 10:40 p.
