Murphysboro Toll Reaches 10 Murphysboro, Dec. 22 (AP) A 1 two-year-old girl has become the 10th person to die as the result of a tornado which tore through Murphysboro Wednesday night. She was Wendy Irene Johnson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

James T. Johnson of Murphysboro. Wendy died early Saturday in Doctors Hospital in Carbondale, where many of the injured were taken after St. Andrews Hospital in Murphysboro became overcrowded. She was the only one in her family seriously injured.

The tornado hit the south edge of Murphysboro early Wednesday night and was one of many which lashed southern Illinois and Missouri. The twisters caused more extensive damage at Mt. Vernon, but only one died there. After the storm abated in Murphysboro fires raged through the stricken part of town, causing even more damage. Phone communications were disrupted, and the town was without power for more than a dav.

More than 100 persons were injured in the tornadoes. ALVA G. RANDALL, PIATT NATIVE, DIES Alva G. Randall, 66, of 895 W. King died at 8:45 a.

m. yesterday in his home. He had been ill about six months. Mr. Randall was born Jan.

6, 1891, in Piatt County, the son of John E. and Maggie Dean Revis Randall. He was married to Bertha Koslowski, Aug. 14, 1929, in Pasadena, Calif. A resident of Decatur most of his life, he owned and operated the Randall Mattress Upholstering Shop, 439 E.

North St. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Harold of Decatur, Clvde of Glendale, and Howard of Norwalk, nine grandchildren and. one great-great-grandchild. One brother preceded him in death. The body is at the J.

The free parking will continue through the Christmas shopping period. There will be free shows, provided by Sullivan merchants, at the Grand Theater Monday and Tuesday. On Monday the show will run from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m.
