suspense ful as to render humdrum any further video dramatics this season With slightly less than eight minutes remaining the dauntless Cornhuskers trailed by nine points They shook confidence with a 45 yard pass play Quarterback red Duda throwing to gallant little rank Solich With 2:14 to go they shattered the resolve of their Big Ten hosts with another Duda aerial this a rifle shot that was deflected by Gopher Mike Reid inside the five and then plucked from the air by rampaging Kent Mc Cloughan who tumbled across the goal line There were nearly four thousand scarlet garbed rooters in the Band Day crowd of 50237 that endured crisis after crisis in Nebraska gaudiest offensive since the 1962 Gotham Bowl Coach Bob Devaney of the Huskers called it most courageous by any team he has ever
