EVANS Whitney Evans, granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. Raymond Evans, of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday of injuries received Sunday in a traffic accident in Bronxville, N. Y.

Miss Evans was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond F. Evans, of Kirtland Hills, near Cleveland. She attended the Brown School in Heights, Hathaway, Cleveland, was graduated from Miss Porter's School in Farmington, and was in her second year at Sarah Law.

m. in the Henninger Funeral Home, 4635 Butler Street. Mr. McCarroll, who was born and reared on the Northside, died Monday in his home at 4307 Stanton Avenue. He worked for the bank for about 33 years before he retired recently.

Survivors are his Mrs. Clara Fischer McCarroll; two sons, Kenneth and Clark McCarroll, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Kibler; and four grandchild ren. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery.

They were exhausted but appeared in good condition as they climbed rope ladder to hovering helicopters that spotted them.

The men, First Lieutenant H. Maguire, of Philadelphia, and Private First Class John L. Summers, of Trogoon, said only the thought of their waiting families kept them going despite hunger, fatigue and shock. Maguire was pilot of an Army L19 spotter plane looking for a small private plane missing since Sunday with five persons aboard. Summers was his observer.

LUIGI D'ANTONIO Luigi D'Antonio, 56, of 3524 Fifth Avenue, owner and operator of the Visual Art Films Distributors at that address, died unexpectedly yesterday at his home. Born in Italy, he came this as a child in 1902 and employed tateunwas on construction jobs in subur. ban Philadelphia. Mr. D'Antonio pioneered in promoting the use of audio-visual aids in schools and churches.

He started his business Downtown here many years ago and moved to the Oakland area in 1951. A member of the Pittsburgh Kiwanis Club from 1946 to 1951, he then helped organize the Oakland Kiwanis Club. He also was a member of the 24th of May Lodge of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America and the National Audio Visual Association. Sur. viving him are his wife.

Mrs. Mary Belcastro D'Antonio; a daughter, Joanne; and three sisters and two brothers living in Italy. Funeral services will be held at 8 p. m. tomorrow at the Brusco Funeral Home, 2007 Fifth Avenue, where friends are being received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.

Russell and Joseph Fitzpatrick, and two granddaughters. Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park. GASSER SERVICES Services for J. Frederick Gasser, 81, of 817 Franklin Avenue, Wilkinsburg, will be at 1:30 p. m.

tomorrow at the T. D. Turner Funeral Home, 729 Wallace Avenue. Wilkinsburg. Mr.

Gasser died Tuesday at his home. He had been for 47 years with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation when he retired in 1945 as chief clerk of the order service department in East Pittsburgh. Mr. Gasser was a member of Beta Lodge 647. F.
