1 July 12, 1945. THE DECATUR REVIEW PAGE FIFTEEN Connie Daniels Has 2 Guests Miss Constance Daniels, home from Vassar college for the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S.

Daniels, West Macon street, has two of her roommates as guests this week. They are Miss Fanny Davis of Houston, Texas. and Miss Ellen Tucker of Ashland, Wis. The girls will go to Chicago for several days and then to Miss Tucker's home in Ashland for a visit. They are passing most of their time this week out at the Country Club of Decatur, watching the Illinois Women's Golf association tournament and rooting particularly for Miss Marjorie Lindsay, who was Miss Davis' classmate at Miss Shipley's school.

Woman's Council Has New Vice President Mrs. H. J. Pettee has been named vice president of the Decatur Woman's Council, announces Mrs. Lawrence Knuth, president.

She succeeds Mrs. W. B. Soules, who resigned in April, and will be in charge of all programs for the council this year. The council board will have a picnic on July 31 at 12:30 o'clock in Mrs.

Pettee's home in West William street. Mrs. Knuth, the president, has been giving talks to Decatur groups to explain the organization. purpose and accomplishments of the council, and now will give her first out of town talk on the subject next Tuesday, when she goes to Milam Home Bureau unit in Dalton City. Betty Mae Ryan, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Pat Ryan, 1521 East North, and Cynthia Dolson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dolson, 1715 East North. are St.

Louis for a couple of weeks, visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dolson.

Both girls attend St. Teresa high school. Ties Feature Golf Play at South Side Mrs. William Lynn Davis won first for 18 hole golf play at South Side yesterday afternoon G. Hamill was Country, club.

William Bradley. Warnick Niece Weds Miss Orvillene Brown of Peoria, niece of Mrs. Clark Warnick, 1140 West Decatur, and Harry E. Baker of Peoria, were married June 24 in First Baptist church in that city, by Rev. Angus Hull, Jr.

They came to Decatur for part of their wedding trip, and now are at home in 200 West Hines, Peoria Heights. Eagles auxiliary will meet at 8 p. m. tonight, with a' social hour afterward. U.

S. Army Mothers Post No. 1 will meet at 8 p. m. Friday in Modern Woodman hall, with a social hour and refreshments afterward.

Mrs. Earl Day and her daughter Harriett, 420 North Oakland avenue, left yesterday to pass the summer in Ohio. Mrs. Day will visit her mother, Mrs. W.

H. Cooper, and her sister, Mrs. Kenneth L. Hunt, in Akron and Harriett will attend Yawaca camp on Lake Erie near there. Double Ten club will have potluck supper Friday promptly at 6:30 p.

m. in Johns Hill park. Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Freda L. Pauley, 453 Prairie, a secretary at the Caterpillar Military Engine company, and Master Technical Sergeant John D. Hight, son of C.

R. Hight of Dalton City. Her mother is Mrs. Merrill Reeder of Beecher City. Sergeant Hight FREDA L.

PAULEY served two years in the Pacific with the marines, and now is at Quantico, Va. The wedding will be July 25 in St. Thomas church. Miss Grace K. Hight and Miss Gloria Cappo entertained 30 guests in the Decatur Club Wednesday evening with a miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Pauley.

She's Nurse Aid in Spare Time Rowena Dickey, Tuesday Recitalist, Is Busy Rowena Dickey's audience day night for her piano recital in Albert Taylor hall at Millikin will include a considerable sprinkling of persons whose faces she has washed and whose aching backs she has rubbed. For Miss Dickey finds time every summer when she is home from Eastman school of music, to put in a number of hours daily as a nurse aid in St. Mary's hospital.
