This name was selected by a committee of men from towns along the route at a meeting in Mt. Vernon Sunday. Mattoon men present at the meeting were H. R. Checkley, member of the committee, and Oakley Starbuck.

The next meeting of the committee will be in Mattoon early in March. CHINA DINNER SETS. 42-Pc. DINNER SETS $5.95 a 10-room, two-story farm residence occupied by the family of William Shockey, one-half mile east of Butler on the farm of Frank H. Brown. The heme was nearly 100 years old, and was constructed almost entirely of walnut lumber.

The Shockey family who had been away from home during the day, returned at 6:30 p. m. Saturday, and started a large fire in an old style fireplace. It is believed the fire overheated the flue, starting the blaze. Members of the family succeeded in removing the furniture and contents of the lower flocr.
