Yesterday some 3003 persons were innoculated against typhoid fever at City Hall, at the Harrisburg and Polyclinic Hospitals, and at the Colored Y.

As a final' and definite precaution against' typhoid, all persons chifilren and adults should be given typhoid innoculations.

"This immunization treatment would not be necessary if every individual followed rules I and 2. But we know from experience that some persons will fail to observe them, and should they contract typhoid, they are then a menace to the entire community. The three institutions mentioned are now prepared to do this protective work on a' mass scale.

"Several hitherto undescribed forms will probably be announced at the conclusion of the experiments. About 25 tests will be performed on each culture before any definite conclusions can be reached." State Chairman M. Harvey Taylor sent a telegram to President Roosevelt joining with the Governor in asking Federal aid for the State.

Senator George Reed, of Harrisburg, sent a letter to the Governor promising Republican support to reimburse the treasury for any expenditures authorized by the Governor to meet flood emergency. Chairman Taylor's telegram to the president follows: "Our offices here open all night" receiving hundreds of calls, offering the aid of our people to flood sufferers, but the need is beyond private ability to meet in the flood-stricken centers of Pennsylvania. Opportunity is here to put thousands of our unemployed to useful work if PWA and other funds cau be made available in sufficient amounts. We join with Governor Earle in asking that Federal aid be generously given to Pennsylvania in this grave emergency. A vast task of clean-up and sanitation confronts us and we need all the help possible."
