backs and a stout hearted line that refused to be awed by a repu tation led Wisconsin to a smashing 17 7 triumph over Ohio State Saturday before a sell out crowd of 45 thousand Elroy Hirsch will wisp sopho more halfback and hard driving Pat Harder were the backs who made the Wisconsin attack tick but it was the great Badger line led by Dave Schreiner and red Negus that repeatedly repelled the thrusts ot Buckexe backs who av eraged over four hundred yards per game until contest The loss knocked Ohio State out of the list of perfect record teams The Bucks had won five straight before facing the bat tering Badgers or Wisconsin' the victory kept it unbeaten with a record of six triumphs and a tie with Notre Dame 3 he setback was only the sec ond in a stretch of 14 games for Ohio State teams coached by youthful Paul Brown The other loss came last season at the hands of Northwestern Wisconsin took charge early and had the upper hand excepting for a brief spm in the fourth when Ohio State marched 96 yards for its lone touchdown fir touchdown came one minute and 21 seconds after the second period opened Harder plunging from the one foot line But it was ihe slippery Hirsch who set submission zu The Bluejays and the home 'S comers among the 10 thousand were fervently thankful the leg in jury (plus prospects of next Tulsa game) kept Mas ter Scanland out of action Because Messrs Tate and Brown were as easy to handles a couple of red hot pokers' And had Scanland joined this duo it might have turned into a massacre But Tate and Brown did all right very much all right behind the
