Community News Guides Cpsby Herald Thursday September 25 197 iii iiiini iiiiinliiir ---anUiriiTV-BtSfiwiiifiiVi' ill i' ii hi Fellowship of St Mary the Virgin Much-needed aid for these children Could you help poor Brownies? however told members all sides of the story The next meeting of the Fellowship will be on Tuesday September 30 when the speaker will be Mr Scholls whose talk will be about "The Gideon Bible" Next Friday morning October 3 the fellowship will host a coffee morning in aid of the Macmillan Nurses in the church annexe from 1030am to noon Macmillan coffee mornings will be held throughout the country on this day All are very welcome to come and help this society for cancer sufferers NANCY KIBERD The Fellowship of St Mary the Virgin Waterloo welcomed Mr Frank Mawdsley (Children's officer for the Children's Society on Merseyside) to its recent meeting His talk covered a wide range of reasons why the society needs to exist and how it gives help and care Every situation which brings unhappiness mental and physical strain or cruelty to a child is accepted and then help it given Mr Mawdsley brought along a video which showed a group of children happily enjoying a short holiday at the seaside His talk SOS from the Brownies at the 10th (St Johns) Following the closing of their Guides it looks like the poor Brownies will have to close for the want of an assistant leader as Guider Elizabeth Pethick feels that she cannot carry on alone Is there anyone out there?
