Dr. S. S. Baker, president of Washington and Jefferson College, was the principal speaker following dinner, when W. S.

Diggs was toastmaster. Dr. Baker asserted that current reports concerning the habits of college boys were untrue; that the student in college is not immoral, drunken habitually or a scorner of religion. He deplored the "hair-splitting" done in many pulpits today, regarding the contention as detrimental to the youth of today, confusing and not bearing upon the fundamentals of life. Immorality and bootlegging.

Dr. Baker declared, is not to be found among the college boys but with men between 25 and 60 years of age. Hd stated that drinking in colleges today is greatly less than it was 20 or 30 years ago and usually when a boy is found derelict it may- be traced back to lack of proper influence in the home. In regard to the last, Dr. Baker spoke, of the great responsibility resting with parents for the future of their children.

Leigh ton was chairman of the dinner. There was a large attendance at both afternoon and night sessions. ALLIANCE FRANCA! SE. Daniel Michenot, of the University of Strassburg, Alsace, will be the speaker at the meeting of the Alliance Francaise, Tuesday night. M.

Michenot is the first official con- fcrencier for this season and will speak on "How to Live Happily." Mrs. David Wilsoh Kuhn, president, of the Alliance Francaise of Pittsburgh, will entertain the members with a "library day" in her linmc. Woodland road, Saturday November 20, from 3 to 5 o'cVxk. Tea will be served and an opportunity will be given to return loks lent out during the summer months and exchanging them for others, a number of new additions have been made to the library. Mips Vera Trimble as maid of honor wore light blue chiffon velvet and carried an arm bouquet of Columbia roses tied with light blue tulle. Miss Julia Sargrant was gowned in orchid chiffon velvet and carriiMl pink chry- tied ith orchid tulle. Miss Margaret Long appeared in yellow chiffon velvet and carried bronze chrysanthemums tied with yellow tuue.

Mrs. J. H. Greene, chairman, to carry through some constructive work for the layman who has not a technical kncwledge of music, but who like it, in order to show "him what is after hearing music. Each month there will be a musical program carrying out this idea of the chairman.

At noon tomorrow, in place of the evening party which was previously announced, the Woman's City Club will have for speaker Clayton Hamilton, who will talk on "Ibsen Influence on Modern Drama." Columbia University graduate and lecturer there for 20 years, Mr. Hamilton is expert in drama.

His subject is of par ticular interest at this time in view of the appearance next week of Mrs. Fiske in an Ibsen revival. Harry N. Holmes, who for five years during the war was head of the British Y. M.
