Other victim is listed in fair condition By MINA RAULSTON and BREANNE PARCELS Staff Writers A West Liberty man was listed in fair condition at Grant Hospital in Columbus on riday after a crash which claimed the life of an Urbana businessman on Thursday night According to the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol motorcyclist red A Suchland 59 of 7935 Catawba Mechanicsburg Road Mechanicsburg was operat ing eastbound on State Route 29 at 11:05 pm Thursday when he lost control and was ejected from his Honda Goldwing as it fell on its side Suchland had owned the Sweepers Unlimited store in down town Urbana for 12 years according to his son Tracy Suchland Suchland had reportedly swerved to avoid a Dodge Shadow pulling out from a stop sign at the intersection of State Routes 29 and 56 The car was driven by Perry Justin Shoemaker 21 2816 Kanagy Road Cable with his girlfriend Tomara Cornwell 118 12 Detroit St West Liberty as a pas senger statement said she had been driving northbound on Route 56 when she thought she hit a dog She turned around and the two exited the vehicle but could not find an animal Shoemaker and Cornwell got back in the car with Shoemaker dri ving and continued northbound When they reached the intersection he started to make a left turn bn Route 29 when they saw the motor cycle swerve and lose control Cornwell stated the two stopped Champaign County multi purpose trail the first phase of which has been in use for a year now By AARON SMITH Staff Writer Every day at lunchtime Nancy Lokai Baldwin leaves her home and massage business on Urbana Moorefield Road and heads to what she refers to as her Tliis spot was made possible by her As president of the Simon Kenton Pathfinders Lokai Baldwin spearheaded the effort to bring a multi purpose trail to Champaign County The trail opened July 1 2001 The trail extends across 25 miles of the old Erie Lackawanna rail bed from Woodburn Road to State Route 55 and fea tures a scenic atmosphere that brings nature to life according to Lokai Baldwin The idea for constructing such a trail was the result of a lifetime of memories starting when I got my first job the first thing I bought was a new Nancy Lokai Baldwin Lokai Baldwin was a child The seed was planted early as she was one of 10 children in a family that had one bicycle loved riding up and down the she recalled in Citizen on June 20 about the possible sale of items donated to the Ohio Baseball Hall of ame the Internet and eBay in particular played key roles Besides having the traditional color glossy catalog
