SANTA ANA DAILY REGISTER, TH LRSDAY EVENING, JULY 9 1936 News Of Orange County Communities Contract Signed For New Mooring In Newport Bay Steak Bake Held Bv Club Members NEWPORT BEACH, July contract for conduction of another big boat mooring in tho up- par and of Newport harbor been signed by James Irvine, landed rancher who has launched a program of slip construction in harbor, It was announced today by Roy Browning, Irvine engineer. mooring Is to be constructed for M. R. Richardson, it was announced, and construction work. is expected to be launched in the near future.

The unit, will cost around $6000, it waa stated. The new mooring will be located at a point to be decided later but will ba similar to the others which hava been completed. Completion of the mooring Just below the Bay Shore camp was announced by the Irvine engineer, who said that another is to be started on the mainland east of Balboa Island. The contract for the latter mooring will be let in a few days, it was stated. A mooring across from Lido Isle was completed a year ago.

An average of around 60 boats. depending, of course, on the size of the ships, can be accommodated at the moorings. The mooring on which the contract was Just signed will be from 500 to 600 feet long.
