volunteered at Mercy Memorial Hospital for several years He is survived by his wife rances Sherner one daughter and son in law Susan and Vaughn Martin Bogota Columbia two grandchildren Nicholas and following a brief illness She was born on July 14 1923 in Urbana the daughter of Albert and Eva (Mosely) Williams She retired from the US Department of Defense after 35 years of service served on the Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority Board of Housing Commissioners for 14 years having held the position of chairperson for two terms held national offices with the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) and was a member of many community organizations in Dayton NAHRO recognized her accom plishments and service at the nation al level by awarding her the distin guished Elizabeth Wells Memorial Award in October 1994 The North Central Regional Commission of NAHRO has a simi lar award for regional offices and starting in 1996 this regional award will be known
