Miss Evelyn Clark, Rushville, pianist, played accompaniment for Miss Phyllis Foster, soloist, Washington, who sang "Through the Years;" Promise Me;" "Ich Liebe Dich;" "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life;" "At Dawning;" "I Love You Truly" and "Because." While the bridal party assembled at the altar, 'Miss Clark played "Love's Dream" from "Romeo and Juliet." Lohengrin's "Bridal Chorus" was played for the precessional and Mendelssohn's wedding march for the recessional. Kermit Pugh, pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. Wedding vows were exchanged beneath an archway adorned with bouquets of white gladioli. with a row of lighted blue tapers at the top and tied with bows of blue ribbon. Two seven-branched candelabra were placed at either side, bearing light blue tapers. Two large beauty vases of white glad10li tied with blue satin ribbon, and potted palms were also companied by Miss Clark.

BRIDE WEARS SATIN Entering with ner father, who gave her in marriage, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin over net, fashioned with a closely fitted bodice marked with miniature satin buttons in front, and long sleeves tapering at the wrists, the skirt extending into a long train. Her three quarter length two tiered veil of illusion net fell from a tiara of seed pearls. Her only jewelry was a single strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried an arm bouquet of white lilies, tied with white satin streamers. The maid of honor, Miss Patricia Wimmer, Rushville, wore a gown of champagne shade, fashioned with a bolero, trimmed in satin buttons, small high collar, and a full length hooped skint of net.

She wore white nylon gloves. On her hair she wore a halo of white pompoms and carried an arm bouquet of white gladioli tied with matching ribbon. Mrs. Jack Hutcheson, matron of honor, wore an aqua gown fashtoned identically like that of the maid of honor. Wearing gowns like those of the maid of honor and the matron of honor, the bridesmaids, Miss Nina Lee Hatfield, Middletown, cousin of the bride and Miss Joy Scott, Anderson, were in ice blue and orchid, respectively.

They wore halos of white baby pompoms and carried -arm bouquets of gladioli tied with satin streamers to match their gowns. Miss Andrea Darrow, and Miss Ellen Morris, wore pink taffeta gowns with hoop skirts and matching bonnets. They wore arm corsages of baby mums and carried white baskets tied with blue ribon and filled with rose petals. The rings were carried on white satin pillows Marilyn Pugh, Leisure and Johnny Downs, Anderson. Marilyn wore a pink taffeta gown identical to those worn by the flower girls.

Johnny wore a royal blue and grey suit. Robert Meurer, Terre Haute, attended the bridegroom as best man, and ushers were Rodney Simmons, brother of the bridegroom, Von Waymire, cousin of the bride, and Don Canedy, Mt. Carmel, Ill. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Tranbarger chose a beige crepe street length dress with accessories in brown, and a shoulder corsage, of talisman roses, while Mrs.

Simmons, mother of the bridegroom was attired in black with white accossories. She wore a corsage of white roses. Dewey Kelly, 2223 South street, today announced the engagement and approaching Frances Anne to Maurice A. marriage of their only daughter, ertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. M.

Robertson, 1402 South street. Miss Kelly attended St. Joseph's school and graduated from dell Willkie high school. She is a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church, Sigma Phi Gamma sorority and is employed as library assistant in the Elwood Public library.

Mr. Robertson was graduated from the local high school and is employed by the Dunkin Construction company of Bluffiton. The wedding will take place Sept. 29 at St. Joseph's rectory, Elwood.

Surprise Dinner Is Held Sunday At Leisure Home Mrs. Virgil Leisure entertained Sunday at a surprise dinner in honor of the birthday aniversary of her husband. Following the dinner, gifts were presented to the honor guest and the afternoon spent socially. Those present were Mr. and Mrs.

Albert Beeman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Wann, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Leisure and family, Frankton; Mr.

and Mrs. Albert Brier entertained at dinner Sunday honoring Dr. N. S. Sichtermann former pastor the the First Presbyterian church.

Dr. Sichtermann delivered the. sermon at the First Presbyterian church service Sunday morning. Guests at dinner with Dr. Sichtermann, the host and hostess were Rev.

and Mrs. Club of First Baptist church will meet tonight at the church at 7:30 o'clock to go in a body to the home of the late Charles Dunn to pay tribute. and Mrs. Orbie Widener, 1900 South street, became the bride of James Simmerman son of Mrs. Freelove Simmerman, Lapel, in a beautiful home wedding ceremony which took place Saturday evening at the home of the bride's parents. 'The double ring service was read by the Rev. R.

W. Sage, pastor of First Baptist church at 7 o'clock. The vows were repeated before an improvised altar arranged in front of the fireplace in the living room. A large bouquet of yellow gladioli was placed on the mantle and at either side was a two seven-branched lighted candelabra. Miss Carol Lee Sowash pianist' presented a program of bridal Sigma Alpha Chi music prior to the speaking of the Will Meet Tonight vows.

They included "Chanson," "Indian Love Sigma Alpha Chi sorority will "Forever and meet tonight at 8 o'clock at the "Ah, Sweet Mystery of and home of Mrs. Keith Ellerman, 222 Promise Me." BRIDE WEARS BLUE The bride given in marriage by her father, was lovely in an aqua street length dress with which she wore brown accessories.

Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a white Bible topped with a corsage of yellow roses tied with streamers in Lover's knots. Mrs. Alvin Westerfield, Elwood, sister of the bride was the matron of honor and was attired in a tan floral print bemberg. She wore a shoulder corsage of talisman roses.

Alvin Westerfield, law of the bride, attended the bridegroom. Mrs. Widener, mother of the bride wore a medium blue dress with a corsage of white camellias while Mrs. Simmerman, mother of the bridegroom was attired in an aqua blue dress. Her corsage was also of white camellias.

RECEPTION Following the ceremony, a reception was held. The serving table was centered with a three tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom. Mrs. Simmerman attended Wendell Willkie sohool and is a member of First Baptist church. Mr.

Simmerman attended Lapel high school and is employed at Ball Brothers in Muncie. They will live at Lapel. GUESTS Mrs. Meadie Widener, New Castle, Mr. and Mrs.

They also collected 101 pies which had been donated by Elwood persons. Union Valley Ladies Aid To Meet An all day meeting of Union Valley Ladies Aid will be held Thursday at the home of Mrs.

Marie Reid. A covered dish dinner will be served. Girl Scout Board Will Meet Tonight There will be a meeting of the Girl Scout board tonight at 8:30 o'clock at the Mangas Cafeteria annex. Mrs. Overton Sacksteder 111 will preside.

C. S. Club To Meet Tuesday C. S. club will meet Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs.

Eva Riser, South street. Time is 7:30 o'clock. From the sales and exchange of Indiana state chemist tags, it is estimated that 1,065,119 tons of commercial feed with 8 retail value $95,441,937 were sold in Indiana in 1949. Bride's colors, blue and white, the reception, held in the church were carried out in decorations at basement following the ceremony. A floral arrangement centered the serving table, flanked by crystal holders with blue tapers.

At one end of the table was a large three tiered square wedding cake decorated in blue and white, topped by a miniature bride and bridegroom. Assisting in the serving were Mrs. Grace Stevens, Miss Catherine Davies, Miss Marjorie Waymire, Miss Phyllis Smith, Miss Noramae Smith, Miss Marilyn Darrow, Miss Susie Williams, Miss Susie Darrow, Miss Leveda Crouch, Miss Leketa Crouch, and Miss Sandra Downs. Recordines, which were was played attended during the by approximately five hundred people. The couple left after the reception, on a wedding trip to Niagara Falls.

The bride travelled in a brown sheer with accessories in velvet. On her shoulder was pinned an orchid. Mrs. Simmons was graduated from the Wendell L. Willkie high school with the class of 1948 and will be a junior this year at IndiState Teachers college, Terre Haute.

She is a member of the Harmony Christian church, Leisure and is affiliated with the Sigma Alpha Iota sorority at the college and the Delta Theta Tau sorority of Elwood. A prominent musician, she plays the oboe in the band and symphony orchestra at the college. She was formerly a member of the high school orchlestpa. Simmons band of attended Elwood. the local high school and is associated with his father in the dry cleaning business in Elwood.
