Nordstrom, former Algona high afhlete and at One lime athletic coach at St. 1 Cecelia's academy,, has just 1 been honored by election as president of the Tavern Owners' Association of Oregon. A full page picture of Art adorns the front page of the Oregon Tavern News, official publication of the association. Art and an older brother went to Oregon some years ( ago, where their father is "also located. He landed with 4$3 and no job, when jobs >wer<» scarce, but soon found •work. In due course of time he interested himself in civil af- ' fairs, and in 1937 was elect- fed commander of the Macca:bees, holding that office for Jfour years. He also became •a prominent member of the : Elks and other organizations. Art is now owner of Bun' galow Inn, Portland. Algerian's Father- Dies, Fort Dodge Thomas Caughoy, 72, father o Frank Caughcy of Algona, diec last Thursday morning at Lu theran hospital, Fort Dodge, af ter being in failing health for several years. He was the owner of the Thos Caughey outdoor sign advertis ing firm. Three sons, including Frank, survive, as well as three sisters. C. of C.
