BEAUTY HELPS COST NOTHING Miss Edith Becomes Clayton L. BY HELEN FOLLETT Every working day of the year, the women of Uncle domain toss several million dollars into the money tills of beauty shops. And all right, too.

They get their worth, have fun besides. Those sessions are nice auld restful, give the cash customer a chance to pull herself together. But there ara beauty helps that cost nothing at all, and many women never think about them. They are the efforts that are made toward cultivating charm of manner, amiability, an attitude of friendliness toward fellow creatures. Because a woman has a beautiful figure, a peaches and cream complexion, a hair-do that is a delight to the eye, is no reason why you may want her for a friend.

It is no reason why some fool man should fall in love with her, though many of them do, not having the kind of intelligence that is discriminating. The woman who Is truly beautiful endeavors to cultivate external blessings, but she also cultivates loveliness of spirit. She is gracious. She never says anything that will hurt another feelings. She is Somebody, not just a carrier of make-up and drv-goods.
