THE DAILY NEWS, FREDERICK, MD. TUESDAY, MARCH 0, LOCAL A010 DEALERS Frederick Dealers' Association Names Officers. JOHN E. RAINE SPEAKER The Frederick Automobile Dealers' Association, imitated with the Baltimore Automobile Trade Association, was organized at a meeting and dinner at the PVancis Pc-ott Key hotel Monday night. meeting will be held Monday.

March 19, when a constitution and will bo adopted. A committee composed of Charles P. Hiteshew, chairman: D. Murray Stauffer, Grayson H. Staley, George E.

Grove and Clyde M. Roney. was appolnteT to draft the by-laws and constitution. The meeting was held in tbc private dining room and was attended by all of the local dealers but one. The purpose of the new organization is to promote co-operation among dealers, improve shop con dltions, secure a better type of mechanics and to conduct a general educational campaign along the line of providing more efficient services to the motor public.

Similar organizations have been organized at Rockville, Cumberland. Annapolis and Bftstou. All of the organizations are affiliated with the Association, and the latter is a unit the National organization Officers elected for the local As eoclation were: President, Robert L. Warfield: vice-president, Jesse W. Kolb, ahd secretary-treasurer.

Charles X. Staley. Mr. Warfijld presided and in- a few words spoke of the need and value oC co-operation among automobile dealers. He pointed out that vast sums of money are invested in the automobile industry ami the quality of service rendered the trade will prove a potent factor in Its further development.

He stated that the new organization could prove Us worth la this community In mauy respects and added that he fell that It had made an auspicious start. John E. Httlue, secretary of the Baltimore Association, the principal speaker, urged those present not to be discouraged over adverse legislation, unfavorable rulings and regulations from the Automobile Commissioner's ofllce or by any other hardships forced upon thorn. "Tre mcndous changes are taking place every day in industrial life and wo must meet the new conditions in the automotive trade as thev wjvelop. lie said.

He referred to a ruling of the Baltimore City Tax Department, that before titles or tags could be issued or transferred that 1928 personal propei ty taxes must be paid. While the taxes were not due and in arrears he public was forced to pay them. A report was made to the Baltimore Automobile Trade Association and in twenty minutes this ruling was reversed. He mentioned other benefits the public had been receiving through the medium ot the Association. Those present were- R.
