Although little is done to flesh out the supporting characters in Frank script, his story about a cop who loses his hand in a bomb explosion, and chooses a workable hook instead of a cosmetic hand to prove he can remain active in the field, will hold your attention. So will David Birney as the guy who earns the title to 9 p.m. Channels 14, S-6, A-5, and J-3. Wide World Special. Marriage Had Actress Dyan Cannon hosts a show about failed marriages and their aftermath, as well as contemporary attitudes toward marriage, with a group of guests including marriage consultants, legal authorities, people who have written about divorce, and a number of people who have been divorced.

Channels 14, S-6, A-5, and J-3. Tuesday Movie of the Week. (1975). Get out the handkerchiefs and prepare to enjoy a good cry for this TV remake of Samuel Best Years of Our It proves that old fashioned sentiment can still pack a punch. Stars like the late Fredric March and Myrna Loy may be missing, but this story of World War II veterans adjusting to small town life depend upon them to bring tears and sympathy for their plight.

The surpise of the film turns out to be Vietnam veteran James R. Miller, a complete amateur, who gives a most moving performance as Homer Parrish, the amputee. may be an overworked word, but it fits this show. 7:30 p.m. Channels 10 and S-3.

The Late Movie. The Midtown (1972). Well handled, melodramatic tale, full of people who ring true, starring Richard police force officer Madigan. In this story, he becomes in- volved in a strange story' of a 15 year old black busboy, who holds up a party given by a wealthy bigot bent on doing business with hotshot hoods, and gets away with a thousand dollars" in cash. What makes this story more interesting than most cops robbers tales, is the trail of clues Madigan during which he meets, makes friends with, and confronts a number of exceedingly vivid, well drawn characters.
