Burrier, widow of George Washington Burrier, died at 11:45 o'clock Wednesday mcrn- ing at her home in Mt. Pleasant, aged 85 years, 5 months and 14 days. A native of Woodsboro District, she was a daughter of the late Joshua and Harriet Lock Fogle. She was a member of Union Chapel Lutheran church, near Libertytown. She is survived by the following children: Elmer Edna G.

and Harvey Mt. Pleasant; and Mrs. Harvey Rippeon, Hagerstown; three brothers. John T. Fogle, Gettysburg; Charles Fogle, Thurmont, and Theodore Fogle, Dayton, six grandchildren and one McCutcheon Weds Iii Presbyterian Church In a ceremony performed this morning in the candle-lighted byterlan church.

Miss Essie Johnston McCutcneon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCutcheon, of Braddock Heights, was married to Joseph Mauk Smith, Ph.D.. fon of Mr. and Mrs.

Harold Rockwell Smith, of San Gabriel, Calif. Rev. W. Merval Weaver performed the ceremony at ten o'clock in the church which was decorated with pine, candles and white chrysanthemums. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Ivory aatin gown fashioned on princess lines with a deep yoke of duchess lace border- MONTHLY MEETING The Builders Class of the Church of the Brethren held its monthly meeting and annual Christmas party at the home of Mrs.

Edward L. Haifley, U. S. Army Air Forces, stationed at Wright Field, Dayton, is spending a seven-day emergency furlough with his brother-in-law and sister, Rev. and Mrs.

C. O. Sullivan, Carroll Parkway. Sgt. Haifley's mother, Mrs.

D. Frank Hail- fley, of Westminster, who was injured in a recent automobile accident, is a patient at the Frederick City Hospital, and is now getting along nicely. Mrs. David D. Kolb, who spent the summer at her home at Braddock Heights, is visiting her daughter, and family, at Chevy Chase.

Pvt. Elmer L. Wharton, after a week's furlough, spent with his James R. Maples, of Frederick, was the usher. Presenting a short recital before the ceremony, Prof.

Henry T. Wade was the organist. He also played the traditional wedding marches for the processional and recessional and played softly during the ceremony. Following the ceremony a luncheon was served at the home of the bride's parents to members of the family and close relatives. The bride and groom then left for Washington, D.

from where they left by plane for Florida. After January 2, they will be at home at 4507 Calvert Road, College Park. For her going away costume the bride chose a pale turquols dress, and she wore a teal coat with Navy accessories. Mrs. Smith, who was graduated from Hood College in 1940, studied scientific drawing at Swarthmore College and also did graduate study at the University of Maryland.

She has recently completed work as a draftsman in the Bureau of Mines at College Park, and plans to continue her studies at the University. Mr. Smith is teaching chemical engineering at the University of Maryland, having been graduated from the California Institute of Technology, and having received his Ph.D. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in June 1943.
