sinking spell jand pushed higher in fairly active trading The market slipped lower the morning as traders'took profits on recent sharp 'gains but the losses were whit tled as the session progressed the list crossed into plus after mid day The Dow Jones industrialaverage at 1 PM was 358 points higher at 84959 At 11 AM the index had been down 357 points The broader based New York Stock Exchange index also erased an early loss and at PM was up 23 at 5296 Sales to 1 PM totaled 30870000 shares Analysts called the profit taking a normal occurrence af ter the recent sharp gains The Dow average rose some 47 points in the past four 'sessions Big block trades included 186100 shares of Gillette un thanged at 371 and 165300 shares of Shell Oil off 1 points at 42 Oils and steels were un changed Rubber issues and aircrafts were up Rails met als and utilities were mixed All other stock categories were lower Decline Up 358 Price changes on the "Big Board included Stevens up l2 at 22 Goodyear up at 2914 Sunbeam up 14 at 2614 Monsanto off at 4514 and Boise Cascade off at 15 The trend on the American Stock Exchange was slightly lower Amex price changes includ ed: Amrep off 6 points at 16
