G. C. Tumelson, Minco, Tuesday evening, 7 o'clock, in the parsonage of Cherry Street Baptist Church. The officiating clergyman, the Rev. Freeman Privett, used the double ring ceremony.

Members of the couple's families, Including the parents of the bridegroom, witnessed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. John Ceppe- nati, uncle and aunt of the bride, were the couple's attendants. Miss Kroesehel chose for her wedding a navy blue suit with white hat and gloves and navy blue shoes trimmed in white.

Her flowers were pink and white carnations in a corsage'. Mrs. Ceppenati wore a blue suit trimmed in white. Her gloves hat were white, and her shoes, blue. Her cor- sage was of white and pink carnations.

Relatives and friends of the couple were entertained after the ceremony, at a reception in the Onized Club. A tier wedding cake centered the refreshment table. Mr. and Mrs. Tumelson have planned a four weeks wedding trip in Oklahoma artd California.

For traveling the bride chose a light blue suit and white accessories. Mrs. Tumelson is erajploypd by Owens-Illinois Glass Col and Mr. Tumelson is an em- ploye of Union Electric Co. St.

Club Meeting: Tonight St. Patrick's Mothers Club will me.et this evening, 7:30 o'clock. Open House to Mark Wedding Anniversary Open house will be held Saturday evening, June 5, from 8 to 10 o'clock, in honor of Mr, and Mrs. Stephen B. Kennedy, the family home, 1110 State St.

The party has been planned in observance of Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy's twenty-fifth wedding anniversary by the couple's four daughters, Albert E. (Patricia) Cooper, Miss Nancy Kennedy, Miss Jane Kennedy and Miss Kathryn Kennedy. Relatives and friends are invited to call.

Mrs. Kennedy is the former Miss Lillian Howard. The Kennedy family recently moved from 1903 State to their present home. Munsterman Curst of Honor Mrs. R.

Lynn Turner of Chicago, formerly Miss Mary Taylor of Jerseyville, was hostess at a dessert bridge and shower given Saturday evening at the home of her father, Rea E. Taylor in Jerseyville, entertaining in honor of Miss Jane Ann Munsterman, bride-elect, Jersey ville. Miss Munsterman and Lt. Robert S. Cornell of Dayton, will be married at 9:30 a.m., June 12.

Mrs. Turner was assisted in entertaining by her aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Flanagan of St. Louis. Maytime was chosen for the party theme and pink was used for the appointments.

The refreshment table was centered by a Maypole surrounded by pink daisies, and at each place was a small corsage of similar flowers. Miss Munsterman's favor was a larger corsage and the Maypole streamer at her place held a note directing her to a collection of personal shower gifts arranged on a table. Bridge and canasta were played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Frank J. Munsterman, Mrs.

William Tracy, Mrs. James Shortal and Mrs. Thomas Feyerabend. Miss Joan Sloan of Chicago was among those present. Vernor and Miss Daisy Lou Frohock entertained with a pre-nuptial party Tuesday nighl at the home of Mrs. Vernor, 257 Westwood place, Northwoods addition, honoring Miss Peggy Clayton, who on June 18 will be married to Airman First Class Donald L.

Stafford. Gifts of a personal nature were presented to the. bride- elect by the 25 guests. Decorations were in orchid and white, and a "clothesline" was stretched across the mantel with letters spelling out "Peggy and Don." Packages containing gifts for Miss Clayton were in a clothes basket placed in front of the fireplace. Prizes were received by Mrs.

and Mrs. Joseph Schulz, graduated from St. Ambrose College, Davenport, Ia. with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and is employed by the National Container Corporation as head of the planning department. Receive Degrees Froni St. Louis University Miss Martha Sharkey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Sharkey, Ramona place, Godfrey, and Miss Marilyn Stolze, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Alvin A. Stolze of Fairmount, were graduated Tuesday from St. Louis University. Miss Sharkey received her bachelor of science degree in psychology, and Miss Stolze received her bachelor of science degree in commerce.

Parents of the graduates attended the commencement exercises held at Kiel Auditorium. Miss Sharkey was awarded her associate of arts degree from Georgetown Visitation Junior College, Washington, D. and Miss Stolze graduated from Villa Duchesne, St, Louis County. First Baptist Women With Mrs. C.

Mrs. Dossett. is the former Miss Nyla Rose by Jack Folmer National BPWC Convention To Be Held in St. Louis Biennial convention of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs will be held in St. Louis from June 27 through July 2, and many members of Alton club, including Mrs.

Edwin M. Leanion, president, plan to attend. Banquet on July 1 will highlight the convention. Tuesday, June 29, has been designated as Illinois Day, and delegates and visitors from Illinois will wear violet dresses of the same material and style. Business sessions will be held at Kiel Auditorium but the Jefferson Hotel will be headquarters.

Jefferson Hotel will also be the setting for the banquet. This year's convention marks the 35th anniversary of the Federation, founded in St. Louis. Final plans for attendance the convention will be made by Alton club members at a dinner- meeting to take place June 15, 6:15 p.m. at the Kentucky Home, Chautauqua.

Blind Holes Tournament At the Country Club Women of Rock Spring Country Club had a blind holes tournament Tuesday, and Mrs. Paul J. O'Neill, Mrs. J. D.

McDonald and Mrs. Paul Vine excelled. Plans were made for a nine- hole handicap tournament to open June 8 and run through four weeks, Further plans were made for a dinner-dance to take place at the club Saturday, June 5, Dinner will be served from 7 to 9, and dancing, to Ronnie Klaus' orchestra, will take place from 9 to 1 o'clock. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. George S. Briggs, 326 Fourth Edwardsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meisenheimer, 313 Dry are parents of a daughter; born-at 9:04 a.m. today in Alton Memorial Hospital. The baby weighs eight pounds, 14 ounces.

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Copeland, 800 State Wood River, are announcing the birth of a daughter, Barbara'Ellen, at 4:32 a.rn. Tuesday in Wood River Township Hospital weighing nine pounds, 12 ounces. Mr.

and Mrs. Copeland have a son, Jerry, 4. Mr. ami-Mrs. William Jackson, 115 North Dianthus, Manhattan Beach, are announcing the birth of a son at 8:10 a.m.

Tuesday weighing seven pounds and two ounces, and has been given the name of James Michael. The couple, former Wood River residents, have two other children, Patsy, 11, and Tommy, 3. Mrs. Jackson's mother, Mrs, W. Lucking, of 511 Acton Wood River, went to California by plane early last week to care for the family.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Totten of 2408 Crawford have chosen the name of David Alan for a son, born Sunday at 6:56 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital.

Richard, of Webster Groves. and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Menzie and family of Streator. 111., will spend the week-end at the Helmick home, coming to Alton for a family reunion.

Mrs. Crowe and Mrs. Menzie are sisters of Capt. Helmick. Mr.

and Mrs. M. P. Doran of Patison Heights, Godfrey, have returned from an automobile trip to California, spending the month of May in the west. They were guests of Mrs.

Doran's brother. Harry Darr in Oakland, and made stops in San Francisco, and in Reno. anrl Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. and Mrs.

Ernest Benecke of Brighton spent the Memorial Day week-end with their son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Marlowe Gregor, and their son, Scottie in Montgomery. Minn.

They were accompanied by their son, Edward, and William Roloff. Miss Ann Lynn, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert B. Lynn, 415 East Twelfth has returned from Fulton, where she was a guest of Miss Ann Prewitt.

Miss Lynn attended graduation ceremonies Monday morning at William Woods College, during which Miss Prewitt was graduated. Mr. anrl Mrs. Frank D. Beiser of Tucson, are announcing the birth of a son, on Monday morning.

Morris Burmester and Walter Thurman spent the week-end in Rockford, attending the state convention of Letter Carriers and Auxiliaries. Cant. Harriet Emily Winkler. A.N.C., Fort Penning, is spending a 30-day leave with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Jrby Winkler, 700 Alby St. Before coming to Alton she participated in Exercise Flash Burn, in the Carolinas, as chief nurse in the 24th evacuation hospital. Capt. Winkler will attend graduation exercises of Alton Senior High School June 8 and commencement exercises of Washington University School of Nursing June. 9.

Her sister, Judy, is graduating from Alton High School, and another sister, Sallie, is graduating from Washington University. Mr. and Mrs. James F. Gaul, son, John, and daughter, Margaret Sue, of Godfrey, and daughter, Mary Ann of Chicago, attended graduation ceremonies Monday at Fontbonne College, St.

Louis, during which Miss Doris Jean Gibbons received a degree. Miss Gibbons is the daughter of Edward P. Gibbons om Webster Groves, Mo. Mr. Gibbons had been seriously ill, but was able to attend his daughter's graduation.

Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Mathews and children, Jane and Kathy, of Park Forest, 111., are visit- ins with Mrs. Mathews 1 parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Al Girard, 623 East Eighth and with Mr. Mathews' mother, Mrs. Carrie H. Mathews, 1025 George St. Mr.

and Mrs. Edwin L. Jacoby of 1109 Washington returned last Friday from Florida where they spent six weeks. Mrs. Jacoby is recovering from injuries received in a fall from a seawall but is walking with a cane.

'In the fall, which occurred shortly after she arrived in Florida, Mrs, Jacoby tore ligaments in her knee. Sister Angela to Visit At St. Joseph's Sunday Sister Angela, former director of nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital, accompanied by Sister Baptista, director of nurses at DePaul Hospital, St. Louis, and Sister Patricia of St.

Vincent's Hospital, San Francisco, will be guests of Sister Helen, administrator of St. Joseph's Hospital, Sunday, June 13. The nuns are part of a group that will go to Japan later to establish a missionary. They are now taking special training and "tudy Louis and after they complete their courses will go to Fordham University. Sister Angela became well acquainted while in Alton and friends here wishing to visit her may call at the hospital while she is here.

At a breakfast honoring the graduates given by the Parents' Association this morning, the American Legion Award for the outstanding manifestations of leadership, loyalty, and integrity was presented by Andrew J. Osborne to Miss Judith Garrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Garrison, 912 Douglas and to James Liller, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Liller, 2317 Sanford Ave. Second in place for this honor were Miss Dolores Noe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Noe, 912 Logan and John Goessling, son of Mr. and Mrs.

J. Gregory Goessling, 1199 McPherson Ave. Mrs. Ralph Luken and Mrs. Gregory Goessling were chairman and co-chairman of the breakfast, and they were assisted by Mrs.

Albert H. Waters, Mrs. Walter Stillwell, Mrs. John A. Drexelius Mrs.

Andrew Craig, Mrs. Joseph Wittman, Mrs. Edward Cotter, Mrs. Joseph Murphy, Mrs. Patricia Rain and Mrs.

W. S. Myers. Tables were centered with bouquets of red roses and wore decorated with blue and yellow crepe paper. Graduates' caps marked the guests' places and concealed rosaries, gifts to members of the class.

Each student received a missal from Msgr. Sloan. (Churches Mid-week service will take place this evening, 7:30 o'clock, at First Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Roland E.

Plans will also be completed for a covered dish dinner which Carlin Lodge and Greenwood Lodge of Odd Fellows will have at the Odd Fellows' Hall in the Northside Saturday, June 5. Alton Rebekah Lodge, 475, will have a joint memorial service with Western Star Lodge Friday at 8 p.m.

Rebekahs' business session will be at 7:30 o'clock. Mrs. Fred Drone Elected President Women of the Moose, Alton Chapter 1131, met Tuesday night at the Moose Hail, Broadway and Washington avenue, and election of officers was held, Mrs. Fred Drone was elected senior regent, and other officers elected are: Mrs. Margaret Wallace, junior regent; Mrs.

Chris Slanker, recorder; Mrs. Nick Schwegel, chaplain; and Mrs. C. E. McMillan, treasurer.

New officers will be installed during a formal ceremony during the next meeting, June 15. Women of the Moose presented a check for $300 to Robert Carroll, governor of Moose Lodge, 951. The money will be used towards providing a new kitchen in the upper hall at the Moose Lodge. Special awards were given by Mrs. Charles M.

Meyers, publicity chairman, to Mrs. Harold O. Henson and Mrs. Eugene Evans for committee work. A letter of thanks was read from Scott Field for cookies sent last month by Women of the Moose.

During a hour attendance prizes were awarded and refreshments were served by members of the membership committee who are Mrs. Leonard Sheff, Mrs. Stoker Adamson, Mrs. Joseph Borders and Mrs. LeRoy Sheff.

Mrs. Omer Wiseman will be hostesses. Alton Unity Class meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mineral Springs Hotel. Mrs.

Elsie Eckert is teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jutting 302 St. Louis East Alton, will observe the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage with an open house Sunday, June 6, at Westerner Club, and friends are invited to call from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m.

They will entertain relatives with a dinner at the club between 5 and 7 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Jutting, who have a son, Vernon. and a nine- year-old granddaughter, Vicki, were married in Alton at Evangelical and Reformed Church, W'ith the Rev.

Theodore Ober- hellmann officiating. Their marriage occurred on June 8 but the couple advanced the celebration two days. Mr. Jutting is a retired employe of Western Cartridge working at the East Alton plant for 27 years. Mr.

and Mrs. Jutting will be assisted in entertaining by Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Jutting and their daughter, Vicki. Mrs.

Jutting, the former Miss Tillie Ringering, has two brothers. Harry Ringering of East Alton, George Ringering, Piedmont, and four sisters, Mrs. Julia Haas of Alton, Mrs. Katie Tuscher and Mrs. John Ireland, East Alton, and Mrs.

Mayme Gasta, Clayton, Mo. Mr. Jutting has a sister, Mrs. Hannah George, residing in Sacramento, Calif. Alton WCTU Schedules Services for Summer Alton Woman's Christian Temperance Union met Tuesday at the parish house -of the First Methodist Church with Mrs.

Clarence Owens presiding. Mrs. Robert Nessl xvas in charge of devotions, "Christ, the Light of Life." The topic, "Fuller Christian Life," was given by Mrs. Florence Richardson. Mrs.

Thomas Morgan discussed work materials for soldiers and sailors, and Mrs. Mary Pivoda talked on "Temperance Missions." Mrs. Lyle Brown gave a book review on "Marijuana." Present at the meeting in addition to those taking part on the program were. Mrs. Nellie Fuller, Mrs.

Gladys Bush, Mrs. Ida Heppner and Mrs. Rose Bowers. A Beacon Light, service will be held July 6 at the Methodist parish house on temperance education. June 7 services will be held at 1:30 o'clock at the Elm View Home, and June 14 members will present services at 2 o'clock at the Alton Woman's Home.
