She was badly bruised and lacerated. --Miss Ruth Rowe, of Ernmits burg, spent the week-end with Miss Eugenia Hays. --Mr. Henry Stottlemyer. whose condition Improved for a time, has suffered a relapse.

Geo. C. Rhoderick, this place, spent Thursday of last week in Hagerstown, attending a meeting of the Maryland executive committee of the American Legion Auxil iary, of which she is a member Mrs. Rhoderick also attended the banquet in the evening, held at the Currey Tea Rooms. --Mr.

and Mrs. Orville Kefauver, of Mt. Savage, spent the weekend in Middletown. arriving last Friday evening to witness the play, "Step Husband," given by the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion that evening. Mrs.

Kefauver played the part of Mary Marshall the leading feminine role, when the play was Savage. given recently at Mt. Wolfsville Wolfsville May Hoover died' at his home, near Hagerstown, Friday last, aged S6 years, 0 months and 5 days. He was a native of this place, where he resided until about 30 years ago, when he moved on a farm 'near Hagerstown. He is survived by one daughter, one granddaughter, Miss Alice Leatherman; one brother, J.

W. Hoover this place, aged 90 years and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Martin, also of this place- Wolfe attended sessions of the Sunday School convention held at Grossnickle's Church of the Brethren, near Ellertojj, last Sunday. Mr. aad Mrs.

Stottlemyer. --Miss Etta Brandenburg, one of the high school students, has been quite ill for more than a week. --Mrs. Rooklyn Pryor was taken very ill on Monday. --Mr.

Rooklyn Pryor and family, and Mr. Otho Wolfe and family moved into their respective homes last Friday. Mr. Pryor has moved his store into the vacant store room in the dwelling of Mrs. Fannie Wise.

Millard Young, of near Jefferson, is at the Frederick City Hospital, where an operation was performed on his jaw. Mrs. Sheridan Toms, of Bethel, who has been indisposed, is improving. Miss Ira Buhrman, of Bethel, who has been suffering with a sore throat, is improving. Mrs.

Amanda Draper, of Bethel, who has suffered a stroke of paralysis some time ago, is reported as improved. Purely Personal Judge and Mrs. Glenn H. Wor'h ington and sons, Messrs. Richa.d and John- have returned after a three-day motor through southern Maryland.

Mr. and Mrs. Simon Summers, of Harmony, are rejoicing over the recent birth of a son. Rev. and Mrs.

Douglass Hooff and Miss Robbins are spending some time at Atlantic City, N. J. The health of Mrs. Hooff, who is recuperating from an illness of pneu mottia, is much improved. D.

A. R. Elects. The regular meeting of Col. Tench Tilghman Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, was held at the Montgomery Country Club, with Mrs.

Laura Griffith as hostess. Owing to the illness of the regent, the vice-regent, Mrs. Ernest L. Bullard, presided. The fleers were elected following of- for one year: Regent, Mrs.

Samuel Riggs, and treasurer, Mrs. James Nicholson. Reports of the Daughters of the American Revolution Congress were made by Mrs. E. G.

Johnson, Miss Magruder, Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Shick. The chairman of manuals. Mrs.

Gibson, reported that eleven manuals had been distributed last month.
