and Gift- $50 Tanasku will be charged with reckless driving before Justice of the Peace CW Crider RD4 Waynesboro No injuries resulted from the accident The last accident reported took place at 7 45 PM 3 miles south of Chamber s-burg on Route 11 whan a 1957 Chevrolet Sedan driv-'en by Ethel Lear4lRD5 Huntingdon Pa (travelling south on 11 collided with a 1957 Stude baker Sedan driven by Gerald Snider 26 RD1 St Thomas which was travelling noxth Mrs Lear applied the brakes to her car which skidded a-cross the highway and col-ided with the Snider car The Lear vehicle was damaged to the extent of $400 and damages to the Snider car was set at $500 No injuries or charges were reported at the time ANTIGONE TO BE PRESENTED A major portion of the Greek classio "Antigone" will be performed by Or-ohesia and the Kittochbinny Players at Wilson College March 22 as a part of the annual Orchesis dance recital "Antigone" relates a segment of the age-old Theban saga According to the legend his classic treats the final events of the story and chronologica lly follows "Oedipus the King" and "Oedipus at Colonus" although Sofrhocles wrote "Antigone" first Briefly the confliot is the play is between Antigone the daughter of Oedipus and Creon the current king of Thebes After one of the wars the former king of Thebes and his brother both brothers of Antigone killed each other when they met in individual combat Creon gives the dead king his honorable burial rites but refuses to do so for the other be- cause he had tried to seize he throne from his brother and had encouraged Theban enemies to advance The play deals with the universal question of manmade or divinely made laws The four major roles will be portrayed by KPmembezs Gennifer Pearson as Antigone Barbara Mann as Creon Caroline MacEslin as resias the blind prophet and Betsy Jones as the Messenger Choric responses wUl be delivered by the dancers The Chorus performs th full-length dances in the play The costumes worn by the four leading players are authentic reproductions loan' ed by the Classical Club Other dresses are being made by the Orchesis members Co-diredtors for production are Mis Frances Bowden advisor to the modern dance group and Mrs John Yarnall the Kit-tochtinny piayers'direotor The Orchesis recital which includes several numbers in addition to "Antigone" is Saturday March 22 in Laird Hall Wilson College Tickets will be sold to the public at the door until 8H5 curtain time Seventy-six Clerks Nominated In Courtesy Contest Tonight at 10:06 PM winter ends and spring is officially with us Was that snow we had last night?
