Despite the heroics of Allison and Steohens, one man gang, Wylie Fox, captured game scoring honors with 31 points. Hutsonville ran their 20-18 first period to 48-27 at halftime and Palestine spent the rest of the time in a vain effort to catch up. The Pioneers, with Fox wielding a hot hand, chopped the Tigers margin to 59-52 at the third close but Hutsonville rose to the occasion and salted the tilt away. The win was 20th against three losses.

Among the latest novelties in golf clubs is the Ping putter. It is worthy of serious consideration particularly if you and your foursome like a bit of music with golf.

When the Ping clubhead rests on the ground this putter looks very much like the conventional center shafted club, but on examining the bottom of the club- head you will find that it is designed more like a tuning fork. According to the popular musician-golfer. Murray Arnold, the clubhead, on striking the ball, rings out with the 440 pitch used in tuning pianos. Putting with a Ping has its merits. It helps to focus your attention on the clubhead and its position when striking the ball.

Such directing of attention is bound to improve the putting of every player. By the sound of the musical note your putts can be by other players even a 100 yards away. Deadly on Jump Shots Kaiser, 6-1 junior guard, has one of the most exciting outside jump shots ever seen in the Southeast. His accuracy from 20 to 25 feet out has drawn raves from most opposing coaches.

And his overall floor play marks him a bonafide candidate for sectional, and possibly national, honors. This past Monday night, playing at home against Louisiana State, Kaiser connected for 30 points, netting 14 field goals. That was enough to raise his total to 454 points in 21 games and, with five more games to go, put him two points ahead of the previous single season high for a Georgia Tech player. His 21.6 average, tops in the Southeastern Conference, is well ahead of the previous Tech high and little doubt that wipe out the career high of 1.363 set three years ago by a four- year man. Kaiser has 836 points now, could top the 1.000 mark this season if the eighth-ranked Yellow Jackets win an NCAA playoff berth, and should break the career mark long before the 1960-61 campaign ends.

Kaiser is a shooter, but not a gunner. So far this season only taken an average of 17 shots per game. In the game against LSU he tied the Tech record with more than 10 minutes left to play- then went nearly seven more minutes before taking his record- breaking shot.

Despite the fame he has found in basketball, Kaiser is looking forward to a professional career on the court, but on a baseball diamond. For Kaiser the baseball player is regarded by pro scouts an even greater prospect than Kaiser the basketball player. As star outfielder on the Tech baseball team he batted .390 last season and before he finished his freshman year had two professional baseball offers. His teammates and coaches all think of Kaiser as a He is confident, but never cocky. In talking about his basketball feats he prefers to speak of the men who set up his shots or how well some other Tech player performed.
