He completed 26 of 43 passes for a school record 446 yards. He also passed for one touchdown and ran for another. PLAYER OF WEEK Free safety Rod Woodson of Purdue has been selected Midwest football player of the week on defense by The Associated Press.

Woodson, a 6-0, 192-pound Junior from Fort Wayne, led a defense which limited Notre Dame to 217 net yards in Purdue's 35-17 victory. Woodson was credited with 12 tackles and returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown. Earlier, quarterback Mike Greenfield of Northwestern was named player of the week on offense. Greenfield completed 26 of 43 passes for a school record 446 yards. He passed for one touchdown and ran for another.

Public contributions are being accepted by the Decatur Stadium Project committee in an effort to raise $4,000. The money is needed to finance a feasibility study the first step in regaining minor league baseball. The feasibilty study presumably will show that minor league baseball provides an economic and entertainment boost to the community. The committee has received pledges of $6,000 toward the $10,000 cost of the feasibility study.
