Ohio new hunting seasons come up this month for Ohio Sportsmen. The archery deer season opens throughout the state Oct 15, with hunting permitted from daylight to dark except on Dec.

1213, the gun season, when 9 a. rn. to 5 p.m. hours are in effect. The season lasts through Dec.

31 for the archers to make it one of the longest how hunting seasons for deer in the land. Bow hunters tan take one deer of any age and either sex. Then at daylight Oct, 18. hunt ing begins for rufied grouse, king of the game birds according to many gunners. The grouse season lasts through Feb.

22, 1964 witJ aaily hours from daylight to dark. Daily limit is three grouse. The Buckeye Big Buck Club baa issued its final call for deer heads to be measured in 1963 for club membership. To date. 23 have met minimum Big Buck Club stand ards for the veal and there are more to be measured.

Largest thus far is the 186 2 8 point buck taken in Licking bounty by Arlee McCullough of Newark. For non typical heads, largest is the 198 point buck taken in Jackson Coun ty by Stanley Liam of Ports mouth.
